USA is supposed to be in their golden era, Canada is supposed to be on the way down yet Canada finds a way to win these routinely. And Canada has by far the best MNT prospects. What are they doing right?
To be fair much like their first match this was a 50/50 tossup game that could've went either way. The US won the tossup game the first time and Canada won the tossup game in the one that mattered more. Can't say either team decisively outplayed the other and both teams were about as equally matched against as you can get.

As much as I loved Canada winning this tournament that people weren't supposed to care much about, lets hope they can do it all over again in the Olympics. 👍 👍 👍

The Avengers have a hulk, Canada has a Gretzky, Crosby or McDavid. Despite shifts in popularity or rumors of less interest in hockey up north among the kids Canada can still churn out best player alive pretty consistently. Has the US ever had a concensus best player in the league in hockey ever?

When a sport is a core part of a country's culture it's really hard to beat that.

America is dominant in many sports, but for Canada the only one we really care about and are totally invested in success at his hockey. That's the short answer anyway, but America has really closed the gap, producing some really great talent at every position.

What the U.S. hasn't done yet, for reasons beyond me, is produce a true legendary/generational talent. A Howe, an Orr, a Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby or McDavid.

Once they get one or two of those guys on their roster, then Canada should really worry.

Not sure where the idea of Canada on the downhill is coming from, 4 of the last 5 first picks are Canadian and 2 of the 3, potentially the next 3 will be.

The US is as good as ever but to say Canada in on the downhill, they neglected goalies and made questionable picks, but the talent is still there and looks to be getting even stronger.

Hockey is our game, we all play hockey in the streets growing up scoring the winning goal for team Canada. Hockey is Canada and Canada is hockey. No other country in the world has the passion for the game like we have here in Canada

America just has never had that elite talented player.

Mario 02
Crosby 10
McDavid 25
Bedard 26

It's great Brady and Matthew like to stage fights in group chats. I mean they pick their battles carefully. Guys like Bennett inches shorter. Would they drop the gloves with Jamie Benn or Jarome Iginla if they were playing? Doubt it.

You need pure top level clutch talent to win. Americans just don't have it.

Canada is proving once again that when they bring their best, they win. It's really one of the cut and dry, black and white things in this world. The history of tournaments don't lie, Canada wins practically all of them when best players are participating.

canadian players are just more clutch. just look at the number of cups the canadians won compared to the americans. im not sure whats responsible for that, maybe its part of their national identity.

Bit of a false premise you've got there. The US has made great strides in the past 15 years, but no one is claiming they've supplanted Canada. We're still gradually moving towards parity in the next 20-30 years, but it's silly to frame Canada as the underdog here, as they still produce the most high-end prospects and make up a plurality of the NHL.
