The CIS used to have a whole lot of conferences.
Until 1971, Ontario and Quebec had three conferences. The Quebec-Ontario Athletic Association (QOAA) and the Ottawa-St. Lawrence Conference (OSLC) oeprated in both conferences. The Ontario Intercollegiate Athletic Association (OIAA) operated solely in Ontario. Those three conferences were divided into the Ontario Universities Athletic Association (OUAA) and Quebec Universities Athletic Association (QUAA) until 1986-87. AFter that the QUAA folded and its surviving teams joined the OUAA, now called the OUA.
From 1972-73 to 1984-85 the former Western Intercollegiate Athletic Association (WIAA) was split into the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CWUAA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). The GPAC teams then joined the CWUAA.
So what if we turned back the clock? The NCAA has numerous conferences and teams can jump from one to the other. What would the standings look like? I sorted out the teams, placing new teams in the CWUAA and QOAA.
The standings look kind of funny, because I used actual results where possible. Some teams made great gains, and others suffered great losses.
