If these 2 6-man teams played, what would happen, who would win, and why?

Team A

B. Hull - J. Beliveau - M. Richard

R. Bourque - D. Harvey

P. Roy

Team B

A. Ovechkin - S. Crosby - J. Jagr

N. Lidstrom - E. Shore

D. Hasek

I always find it impossible to guess at team succes, especially for a single game, or even series. Change the question to "who wins the Ross or Hart in an 82 game season" and I'd be more inclined to give it a go and pick among those players.

Because, any good, bad, medium team can beat any good, bad or medium team in hockey, especially over a single game. Roy may have a stinker and let in 7. Or Lidstorm may think he's Orr and score 5 goals. Lots of way a single game can play out.

I think in general, I prefer the individual makeup of team 2, but I'm not so sure they'd mesh well chemistry wise. I'm not sure Crosby/Ov/Jagr would have great chemistry, so if I had to choose I'd choose team 1, because I'd expect their forwards and defensemen to have better chemistry.

If it is 20 minutes periods, with no line change, freak endurance athlete could get an advantage, player used to long shift as well, but that seem well distributed. Team A is 06 heavy, so maybe they would have some edge there...

Not sure the context of looking at them playing each other for a whole game is easy on the brain, not the thing we tend to ever see.

I also thought it would have been what if the nhl became a 6v6 skater league.
