Plenty of battling in this game and it wasn't pretty which is EXACTLY the kind of win you want from a team serious about the playoff grind.

Matthews said "get on my shoulders" and JT was Robin to his batman tonight. I don't know how many shots Matthews had but he had to be near double digits. Special mention to Stolarz who is starting to round into pre-injury form IMO

I guess maybe the style of play with Craig Berube is better for the playoffs than it was with Bozo the Keefe.

majority of posters here are truly leaf fans, they just want to win, I do not blame them one bit for expressing frustration here on the boards, its deserved sometimes, lots of older fans have never seen a cup and the generations that have followed them.

They didn't look terrible for two periods but couldn't break through with any consistency. In the 3rd they kept pressing and with the help of Kings' taking penalties (and a failed challenge) pushed through and got a deserved 2 points.

If only you could try to be somewhat objective about the Leafs, my friend. Even just a little bit.

Realizing that it’s impossible for Toronto to go 82-0 during the regular season would be a good start.

And then being able to hold yourself back from organizing a Stanley Cup parade after they win the opening face off in a regular season game at the end of March would be the next step.
