The playoffs might call their ex and friendzone the leafs, they don’t get to score further. Golf becomes a bigger focus.

What happens if the Maple Leafs don't go deep into the playoffs? What changes will they make? What will be the consequences? How ill the fan base react?

1.
Sunrise, sunset.
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another,
laden with happiness and tears.

2.
The wrong ones.

3.
Someone will be shot, but not who deserves it.

4.
Deplorably.

Fans might be a little more irked than normal...Maybe a few over turned cars in the city...Other than that, probably the same old same old....

Marner and Matthews were arguably the two best players in the final. I think the leafs are going to surprise people. Knies will score 30. They finally have goaltending. They are going deep.

Marner at 11.5M x 8 showing he wants to win and not give a damn about being paid the highest he can

Tavares at 4M x 3 showing he wants to win and at this pt his AAV means little with 4M being a good deal thst he should live up to in ages 35-37 season
Nothing about those guys suggests they are going to take those kind of discounts on their next deals.

And why should they.. as Nylander said, “I’ll take less if Auston takes less”.. we all know how that played out

I think with Marner coming up clutch it's possible...but let's be honest, with how Matthews plays defense in the most important time against McD, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose again in the first round.
Still can't believe how you can not be aware what to do in such a moment...if he is glued to McD and he scores then it can happen but not letting the best player in. The world all alone in the slot...holy s*** unbelievable.

that sounds made up

With all due respect to Leaf fans, the pressure should have come 4 years ago and yet we're still talking about things ever changing
Be more specific. Pressure from fans?

Who played in goal for Toronto then? Jack Campbell was going to help TOR go deep in the playoffs? Did they even have defensive depth then? Alex Galchenyuck and Wayne Simmonds were supposed to push Toronto to success?

I think the media is at fault for giving fans this idea that they were going to be the new Blackhawks. They were never even close.

This season certain areas have improved, but probably not enough to win it all.

This notion that drafting star players makes you automatically a cup contender is so crazy.

For all we know this could be Winnipeg's year. They can be guilty of the same issues Toronto has. Somehow they've lived rent free (free of jeers from hockey fans) all these years.

:dunno: They’ll just put the parade’s logistical plan back in the drawer again.
Also, as a side thread, what happens if the Oilers stumble and fall in round one? If we’re gonna do one, let’s do both of the favored Canadian contenders.

:sarcasm:This thread is probably a good kicker to get the regular season restarted, to quickly chip away at all the Canadian Hockey unity of the last couple of weeks and get the vitriol between the Canadian fanbases flowing again:naughty: game on!
