Not trolling whatsoever, but what happened to Woll? At the beginning of the the year we all assumed that he would be the #1 Goalie heading to the playoffs, but it now seems like Stolarz is running away with the starter role. Is there any chance he can work his way back to being the starter in the playoffs?

What happened to the team in front of both goalies? Woll has not played his best, however, the team in front of him is terrible right now.

Leafs presumed that the next path of his development was being a tandem goaltender. He's doing ok for less than $1M. Next year is where he was must progress in order for that contract to be any sort of a bargain.

He might be one of those players that step up their game when the lights shine brightest. Small sample size but his playoff stats are pretty good. Just gotta stay healthy.

he's had a couple of stinkers which tanked his stats

he's also had some incredible games:
45-48 against the oilers in a 4-3 win (outshot 48-28)
38-41 against the lightning in a 5-3 win (outshot 41-28)
36-39 against the stars in a 5-3 win (outshot 39-19)

he's good for .905-.910 behind this team

if we step our play up and don't get constantly outplayed and force goalies to play amazing i could see him aroud .915+

I don't think that anyone familiar with Stolarz would have assumed that he's coming here just to be a backup. He's running away with the starter role because he's been great whereas Woll has merely been good.

Sure, but why I see is Woll not tracking and too active, irregardless of Tanev being out.

He's definitely not tracking well anymore on a consistent basis, and then falling back on bad guess work deep in his crease. Maybe that's a sign of physical and mental fatigue and loss of confidence. He's also been through the league rotation as it were and teams now have a book on him. I'm not confident we'll see him on top of his game from here on out. Will need the summer to reset kind of thing.

Doesn't look like a book to me, looks like confidence. He's clearly more active and deeper, which really has nothing to do with scouting him. Maybe it's part of it, but he's clearly struggling. I still have confidence he figures it out, this isn't Mrazek, kid is still learning the NHL grind.

Probably not and that is OK.

The important thing is that he doesn't allow this run of bad play to go on much further.

We need both our goalies going

He's still pretty young, but already seems like a current Binner. Maybe not ready to be Leafs starter, but if he has to waltz into a tight playoff series I'm not too worried. A luxury backup for now, hopefully more eventually.

big reason we won tonight

shut the door in the 3rd, OT, and shootout

stats only show a .909 but he was valuable tonight/yesterday?

Have to disagree with you here, he's 31 years old and a career NHL Backup when he wasn't in the AHL. He really only made it full time to the NHL and 27 years old, as a clear backup.
