With Quinn’s contract approaching, it got me thinking—what do you all believe gives the Canucks the best shot at winning a Stanley Cup? A major factor is whether Quinn decides to stay or leave. If he stays, a rebuild is clearly off the table (and rightfully so).

Personally, it’s tough to envision a path where wheeling and dealing alone transforms this team into a true contender. I’m starting to feel like a full-scale rebuild might be the only realistic solution.

On the other hand, we are the 7th youngest team and management did a great job rebuilding the defense and you would hope they could do the same with the forwards.

If Quinn stays, a retool is probably the safest bet.

But my question is: even if Quinn commits to staying, what strategy would give this team the best chance to hoist the Cup—or at least build a roster that can contend consistently, year after year? Curious to hear your thoughts.

If Quinn were to end up leaving, you would have to retool. Our owner wont rebuild. The goal would be to get a top 6 C, and a few good D and maybe W prospects in the return

Could you please add “ A new owner” to that poll.

I am a firm believer that until this ownership changes then it doesn’t matter who is brought in or what superstars are on the roster. It will all be pissed away with this yearly “just make the playoffs” direction and mentality.

Under the Aquas, we have witnessed some of the darkest times in Canuck history and unfortunately imho they will continue on.

what is the difference between "continue to add" and "retool"?
Retool - Being okay with trading expiring and players with value for future assets.

Continue to add - Every year the playoffs are the goal, keep looking to add without trading for future assets. (Boeser/Suter reasoning)

Every prospect not named EP2/Mancini/Willander/Lekkerimaki, as well as every pick, should aggressively be in play to improve the top 6 forwards, but no old vets or rentals.

Even though I like Tocchet, he may need to go in order to get the forwards shooting the puck again. This team is lucky to enter the 3rd period with 10 shots registered, and we ain't winning shit playing like that. That is %100 on Tocchet and his system.
