Seravalli mentioned, maybe during the losing streak, about some of their young defensemen being overvalued by GMs. I think you can rule out Dahlin. However, to me that applies more to Power. He's been OK relative to where he was drafted.

Like someone else said, I would explore trading Power before Byram.

I'd be interested in acquiring Fabian Zetterlund for Byram. 20 goal scorer, top six forward, physical, and knows Ruff's system as he played for him in NJ. Same contract term as Byram, arbitration elgible next summer. Not a 1 for 1, but could be a package San Jose adds to. We need players like him
Now name a single asset reasonably available from any of those teams that Buffalo would be interested in for Power/Byram. Spoiler: you can’t. The Sabres are f***ing done with futures, and not one of those teams can offer something off its roster that is more useful to the Sabres than Power/Byram.

I'd try to get Zetterlund maybe with a futures package. Trade Byram for a winger, Idk, a top 6 C and a top 4 RD makes more sense.

Garland is a 1+ rental player. Vancouver needs to add alot. Hesl alone is not returning byram
Oh I agree. I am just trying to get a general feel of what it would cost. I feel like Pettersson isn't going anywhere and I don't think Miller will accept a trade to Buffalo because of his NMC. Garland is the sparkplug of the Canucks, rarely takes a game off. I understand it would cost Garland + + but just trying to understand what the + + is? Picks and prospects?

Garland, Raty, 2nd for Byram?

Not too attractive, hard to find a reasonable deal here, but trading Byram for a winger would be weird since our main needs are top 6 C and top 4 RD. Although I like Garland.

Would Canucks sparkplug Connor Garland be of interest to Buffalo? What would Vancouver need to add to aquire Byram?
Adding Garland as part of a more blockbuster Cozens + Power for EP40 plus Garland would make sense for both teams. Vancouver would save a bit on the cap in such a deal.....and Buffalo could really use a guy like Garland in our middle 6.

I just don't know if you've got a guy that could replace Garland in your top 9 if you trade 2 forwards for 1 forward and 1 D.

Cozens + Power + Zucker/Greenway (retain) for EP40 + Garland

Yeah, I'd certainly add Greenway into that deal (especially if the rumors of him not wanting to re-up here are true).

Feels like Vancouver needs to kick something else middling in there (like a 2nd or 3rd or something).......but this seems like the basis for a tremendous deal on both sides.

Garland, Raty, 2nd for

They need a solid 2C thst us young and a mid pair RD that shoots right and is young

Raty×2nd is below a ++ value

Raty doesn't move the needle and would be buried in prospect pool given ahead of him in the farm would be Benson, kulich, ostlund, helenius, wahlberg. Rosen, and a few others

If buffalo was trading for pure prospects( they are not) it would likely cost Walinder, Lekk, and an unprotected 1st as a start to get a top pair LD who was 23 at start of this season

I know it's tough. I honestly don't think Pettersson will be traded. I think Allvin called him out as a wakeup call to light a fire under his ass. That leaves JT Miller who has a no movement clause. No offense but I don't think Miller will waive to go to Buffalo. Although I wish he would because Buffalo has some very good assets. As for giving a defenseman back, in which the Canucks are severely lacking. The only starting defenseman "Wouldnt be on a good team" with right hand shot are Myers, Desharnais and Juulsen. The Canucks are in a huge bind, they trade one of their centermen for a good defenseman and it leaves a massive hole at center.

The Friedman made up trade of Pettersson for Cozens and Byram is probably my favorite proposal yet because it could potentially help out both teams.

What could Miller fetch in a trade if he did lift his clause to play in Buffalo?

Also just want to say I'm rooting for Buffalo and it's fans. You guys have been through hell "similar to us" over these years. That 1970 expansion is cursed.
