There’s no way another team could touch cozens + byram for EP imo that’s two really young solid players with tons of potential. I don’t think I’d do power+cozens though

I suspect that the Canucks choose not to trade EP or Miller—and instead choose to break the bank and trade for Byram with picks and prospects.
Vancouver has Hughes... He's the 2nd best defender in the NHL. LHD (like Byram) and the top LHS PP QB in the NHL.

So Vancouver doesn't need Byram. Just like how Buffalo doesn't need all three of Power, Dahlin and Byram.

Vancouver should go after a RHD that focuses on defending. A Brandon Schneider type of player.

Look at trades with teams like Chicago, Philly, Tampa, Seattle, LA or San Jose. Send Byram (or Power) to a team that needs him in their top pair.

Byram is an LTIR waiting to happen - if you can get Pettersson for a package centered around Byram, do it NOW.

Power is on the passive side for sure. Is this his style and you can't change it or is it simply him learning on the job and trying to do the little things right. Hard to know.

I don't know Power's game from the NCAA.... what was his style then? Was he more aggressive or more of the passive side where he just uses hid body as leverage and his smooth skating to get the space he needs?

Defensively, he's the same guy now as he was with Chicago in the USHL. I have seen zero growth.

Avs were foolish to trade Byram for Mittlejost. Pathetic
Mitts would have had 3-4 apples last night if Bob wasn’t lights out. His passes were incredible all game.

I hated (and still do) the fact the Avs got rid of Byram to get him, but if he starts heating up with the right triggerman; that’s a scary 2C situation.

The Sabres need a top 4 RD badly. One that actually shoots right. Rasmus Anderson for Dylan Cozens would be a decent one maybe.
This would be a good move for sure. Sabres definitley need a Top4 RHD that can defend. Key word being defend. So this checks those boxes unlike 99% of trades you see on here 😂😂😂

Because he had concussion injuries a few years ago I’m guessing.
has been completely healthy entire time in Buffalo. So idk where guys are getting the ticking time bomb stuff from

You can only do 7 yrs, Sabres match it in their sleep

Whst would they return,?
Just by looking at the teams, you’re getting offered prospects and picks. Lmao

If the Sabres trade guys like byram and cozens it can’t be for future packages. Then need to get an established player coming back

Buffalo likely signs Byram this summer ( if not traded)
At some point they will trade one of Power or Byram

Dahlin can play RD

In prospects they have D

RD --22 Komarov,23 Strbak, McCarthy. 24 Kleber
LD -- 19 ryan johnson, 21- novikov

They drafted a few other prospects at D

My feeling is they try to sign Strbak after this yrs ncaa, have him play next year in AHL then take a shot st Sabres between him and Komarov

In 26/27 I see sabres D as

YYY-dahlin
YYY- xxx
Ryan Johnson-Clifton (resigned)/signed vet
Vet LD

YYY=Power, byram,or samuelsson

The XXX is what they want to get back in a trade either moving of the D ffg or or its 2 deals of Fs for that D sndvthst D for F
I think this team need to add some veterans with some leadership, does some guys like Charlie Coyle and Brandon Carlo could help this team? On the other side, Bruins probably need a solid retool and need to let go some good veteran like Carlo and Coyle, Frederic, Geekie just to name a few...

I have interest in Carlo but not trading byram got him.

No interest in Frederic and Coyle they are rental.buffalo is not in a rental market.

Geekie is an RFA

Buffalo would do nhl playertrades for either of those. No future trades

UFAs to br would be for prospects/ picks -- greenway, jokiharjo, zucker

Now name a single asset reasonably available from any of those teams that Buffalo would be interested in for Power/Byram. Spoiler: you can’t. The Sabres are f***ing done with futures, and not one of those teams can offer something off its roster that is more useful to the Sabres than Power/Byram.

What sort of contract do people think Byram will be looking for if you wanted to sign him for say 6 years?
6 X 6 is probably a ballpark but maybe he goes for a shorter deal or if it's a,longer one he get's more money than 6 per.

As a Canuck fan I'm still interested in him given our defensive situation and the Miller/EP40 thing.

There's few players in the NHL with as much self-confidence and belief as Bowen Byram has.

He will *always* bet on himself. I don't see him signing a 7 or 8 year deal for the speculated $7m AAV in this thread. He will sign another 2-3 year contract and expect himself to be worth $10m AAV or more by the end of it.

Byram for Andersson? Hard to find a team that have RDs available
At least that makes more sense than Cozens for Andersson.

After the Huberdeau deal the Flames are going to be hesitant to pick up a guy with his cap and term and current playing ability.
