Points leader. Tied for goals. Involved in almost every goal the past 10 games.

Paid $1,150,000 million this season, compared to Nash $7,800,000.

Please vote seriously. Don't vote based on his recent performance, but what you think he should be negotiating for on his next contract.

If I had read your post more carefully I would have voted for 3-4, but I think he deserves 4-5.

I'd say 3-4 is a fair value, paid well for his skills, but lacks some NHL experience and undrafted.

I think Sather is going to be very cautious with Zucc. No doubt he's our best player right now (and I mean right now as RIGHT NOW, subject to change), but I think Sather would be afraid to go anything more than three years.

I'd go 3 @ $3.5 for Zuccs. If he wants 4+ years.... I think Sather lets him walk.

My guess is that Zuke is looking for contract length rather than money. He's shown that he likes job security over a payday throughout his career. But we'll see what we end up with :)

Sather would be a ****ing moron to let Zuke walk.

We have an incredibly talented offensive hockey player who's not an absolute moron in the defensive zone, and he's only 26.

Five years.

I'd try to get him at 15mil over 5 years. he'd probably take it and it would be a great deal for many years.

If Zuke takes 3 million a year, then HE'S the moron.

He'll finish this season with 60 points.
nah, i'd say thats a good salary. He is currently playing the best hockey of his life in my opinion (and long may that continue!), and while he might get more on the open market if he keeps this up throughout the second half...well, he's demonstrated that money is not a deciding factor for him.

Im sure we'll start hearing things soon, i imagine the Rangers would be interested to lock him up fairly quickly.

Oh I agree, but I think he could get 5 years @ 4 mil and be absolutely worth the contract.

Too early to say but I think Slats will be fair. Zooks should definitely not make less than guys who score 5-20 points a season anymore. I do not want him to have a huge contract. Just something fair.

If his agent can get the franchise to consider a new contract in this framework MZA is going to be paid something like 100 million per year.

The problem is that using a yardstick based on the high-paid underachievers screws everything up. Once there are mediocre players being paid as elite players, I think you are in a bit of a spot if you use that in the equation of how to pay someone else.
I like Zuccarello so much, I can hardly believe we got him. He stands out on this team. Whatever happens, keep Zuccarello and try to improve the team by getting rid of the other pieces of deadweight wood on skates, like Pouliot, John Moore, Falk. Why keep players you cannot depend on.
On a proper hockey team, Zuccs is a great second or third line player. For now, he is probably the best Rangers forward. Have to keep him.

None of the above. He's too small to be an effective hockey player :sarcasm:. But seriously, 3 years at $3.5 mill.

3-4 is a no brainer for his production. He's made the full adjustment to the NHL, and it seems evident he'll have a serious career here in NA. I'd don't want to see him walk if he wanted a bit over 4m per

3 years at 4-4,5M

Also think Zucc will settle for a lower salary if he gets more years.

5 years 3,5-4M

For 5 years I could see him take it. Good term for him, good price for the Rangers.

If you want to win something as a player, assuming you believe your GM is competent, you should leave some money for the team to spend on the other players too, unless you plan to do all the winning all on your own.
