Fire him into the sun. Have Boogs interim until the end of the season or until someone more appealing (Monty, Lambert) is available, whichever comes first.

f*** Coach Q, dude can eat a dick. I'd rather have a dead last team for 10 more years than someone who covered up a rape.
If we were going to promote an Assistant, why not Tanguay? We have the 3rd best power play in the league.

Kane should be traded to a destination viable through his NTC. Call up Watson and/or Mazur and move everyone up a spot in the line up.

Let Mazur get some experience at center and wing in the bigs.

I mean a great PP assistant coach really doesnt translate into a great head coach.

The Lions are a geat example when you take a succesfull offensive assistant and try to make him a HC

It isn't a great recruiting tactic to give the new guy a shit roster with a shit record. They’re not going anywhere, so let Fester stay for a full and proper tank and fire sale. Let the new guy put his stamp on the team with some input and a fresh(er) start.

At least it is something that is actually working on this team.

Which guy are you talking about? I would bet their current OC is going to be a good HC.

Patricia

Ben Johnson is a bit different though as unlike Tanguay or Patricia he's actually had experience at different assistant roles.

I've been ready to move on from Lalonde since the 2nd losing streak last season. The first one was one thing, but the responsibility for that kind of stretch happening twice in one season from a team that also showed it could be really good at other times fell squarely on the coach IMO.

With Montgomery available that would be the ideal option for me right now. Boudreau would have some potential too. Or Tanguay as @Frk It mentioned, if even as an interim to start. Pretty clear that it's time for a change though, whoever it ends up being.

Other than with a awful Columbus team, Gerard Gallant has never had a losing record. His resume is pretty solid. He's a former plyer, former linemate of Stevie's. I'd have to guess that he doesn't take any shit from anyone.

He led an expansion team to a record of 27 games over .500, in it's FIRST SEASON!!! That's crazy!

It just makes too much sense.

I thought this was a good read with some interesting insights. Particularly about the dressing room being a quiet group.
Great to read that Edvinsson's got some piss and vinegar. Give that young man an A, get a new coach, and let's f**king go! Hell, I'd even give Tanguay a shot as the power play is elite. Build off the one thing you're actually good at!

My only question is what is his relationship like with Stevie? If he would agree to a short term stint to get us through the season I think it's worth a shot. He knows how to get the most out of a team but it sounds like he wears out his welcome really quickly. I remember reading about the Kings when they had to let Andy Murray go. The GM told the players 'we had to let a good guy go because you guys are playing like crap, so now enjoy yourselves some Darryl Sutter!".

I thought this was a good read:

It's interesting to note how much they seem to be missing Perron. I wonder if the Wings could honestly just trade for him. Ottawa would probably pay you to take him. Put him on the 4th line, let him motivate. Hire him as an assistant coach after this year.

This is the first take I've seen that suggests there are locker room problems. Like not drama or conflict, but just... nothing. They don't have "the guy" who gets them hyped. Sure, coaches should do that, but you need players to do it, too.
