trade elliot for a 5th(the hot pick to get tradewise this year LMAO) ride allen in to the playoffs and win the cup? or will the team decide to play hard in front of Halak when he's in?

Am i the only one that thinks halak has played well this year but has just gotten ZERO support.

No you're not the only one. They don't play the same in front of their goalies, depending who's in. I can understand the Blues need the points, but at one point , you have to play Halak, it won't help him either , he's getting rustier and rustier and so is Elliott.
Yes Allan is playing great, and I noticed the chemistry between him and the team, Elliott has it too, but honestly I've never seen Halak and the team with the same chemistry, they just don't seem to fit together, and I'm a Halak fan, so I'm not putting him down, he just doest seem to fit with this team, or it might be my imagination, who knows.

I'd rather trade Halak for some value. Elliot is still young and has a lot of upside. If the Blues are going to ride Allen, then why does it matter?

Halak might be that piece that's going the other way..in any trade.

You can always just send Elliot down and he will likely get through waivers. Let him work his game out in Peoria. Still think it's too soon to give up on the guy.

But that's what's happening in this very short season.

Elliott's a month older than Halak. I don't understand how that makes him young or possess a lot of upside. Elliott is what he is. Both guys are, really. Elliott is a good backup that has the ability to play the position competently if the team in front of him is strong. Halak is an average starter that is extremely streaky.

Right, but which one is going to get you anything in a return?

Just dropped Bishop in favor of Jake Allen in my fantasy league, will he start one of the games Saturday/Sunday?

I don't see why he wouldn't start sunday. Hitch said halak is startin saturday for sure. But then again he has played halak on back to back nights before.

I guess it will depend if Jaroslav Halak gets a good game. If he gets a solid game Saturday, I think Hitchcock is going to try to get him rolling by playing sunday also.

I really think Halak is going to eclipse Allen in the next couple weeks. Anyway, he needs to. He's played well enough recently to do this realistically. May he gets a shut-out and plays Sunday too?

Nothing against Allen whatsoever, but I'd feel more comfortable with a tandem of Halak/Allen where Halak is in form and getting the majority of the starts. Allen has shown he's going to be a starter in this league, but once teams start getting a book on him he's probably going to decline a little bit in the near-term future. If he is playing in the playoffs I'd prefer it be a lower pressure situation where he's not being expected to be "the guy" from the get-go.

I'm a lot less worried about asset management and getting value for a goalie at this point. Goalies have low value due to the market, so losing Elliott (if that's what has to happen) is a lot less important to me than getting the 2 best guys in rotation both playing at their best. Its totally conceivable that Elliott is still one of those 2, but not this season. The off-season makes for an interesting dilemma for the Blues. They must have in mind to keep Elliott, or at least entertaining that scenario (maybe moving Halak) or I think they'd have sent him down to Peoria and tried to get him through waivers by now.
