As others have said the only real need is a top 9 winger to get Cousins on the 4th line. Would love an Anthony Duclair reunion if that could be done cheaply, but also they should give Samoskevich a run of games sooner rather than later with Luostarinen and Lundell to see if he can just hang and then you can save a draft pick/prospect there.

Sidenote I think Ekblad is way less likely to be moved than some people think. He's been really damn good since coming back this year, and last year always seemed like an aberration more than what he really was.

Just gonna add on to what everyone else already pointed out: Nick Cousins performed pretty well in a pinch in the last playoffs, but the Panthers desperately need to get someone to replace him on the third line, he's been the team's biggest liability this season by a country mile.

If there are any takers for Ekblad, he's f***ing gone this off-season.

I don't get the point of getting Duclair back. Sure he had speed but he was useless on the ice except for breakaways/random goals. Wasn't much of a back checker IIRC either. No surprise he was the only guy traded this offseason and was replaced by Evan Rodriquez. He excelled next to Barkov but I dont see the point in breaking up the first line for Anthony Duclair.

The NMC protects Bob. Nothing Fla can do to him aside from not start him as much. Can opt to carry 3G but their A club isn’t exactly next door to shuttle guys up and down.

His trade list, could just be the ones with a good goalie like TB, NYI, Van, NYR, Win, etc. thus no market.

He goes only if he wants to.

It's a 16 team no trade list so it leaves 15 teams he'd go to.
This is the 2nd time you've posted this about Bob.
Player waive their NMCs, you're acting as if it's a foregone conclusion he's playing out the whole deal in Florida.

And Panthers fans have told you it's likely he stays next year and possibly leaves with one year left on the deal.

He didn’t get enough attention the first time. Apparently.

I'm more curious about what the Panthers will do next year.

$28M in capspace with

Rodrigues / Barkov / Tkachuk
Verhaeghe / Bennett / ?
Luostarinen / Lundell (RFA) / ?
? / ? / ?

? / Ekblad
Mikkola / ?
? / ?

Bobrovsky / Knight

Suppose they bridge Lundell at 2 years, $3M per, bringing their capspace to $25M.

Reinhart would be a huge re-sign, but he's looking like he might cost $10M. He's pacing for 53G, 100 points.

Montour and Forsling would be huge as well, but each of them probably cost $7M or more.

If you sign all 3 for $24M and you bridge Lundell, you have $1M in cap space to sign 6 players. It seems impossible to sign all 3, and even difficult to sign 2. To fill the other 6 holes even at league minimum cuts your capspace by $4.5M, so you're down to about $20M for those 3.

I don't think Reinhart gets 10 million anywhere let alone Florida. He'll probably resign around 8x8 and the other two likely get 7ish
