3 seniors are bitching about life in the old age home, the 70 year old says "just once I wish I could wake up the have a real good piss." the 80 year old saws, "nah I wish I could wake up and take a big quality dump." the 90 year old saw "you kids have got it all wrong, every morning I have a good piss and a huge dump, I only wish I could get up before noon.'

🤣

One of our docs tells the story about a women that survived cancer, changed her diet, started exercising in her 60s, and was climbing mountains in her 90s . Never too late.

I watched a documentary and it basically confirmed what your doc is telling you. The stat if I'm not mistaken was if you are still walking and walk at certain speed(not sure if 5km/h) in your 60s you have 90% chances of making it till you are 90, while you have 80% chance you won't see 80 if can't do 5km/h walk in your 60.

I'm butchering the stats but it's close. You need to keep moving, and it's never too late to improve your health via movement.

I used to play with a guy who had double bypass surgery in his late 40s - in his mid-50s was playing with his sons in our 35+ league.

Another friend just turned 89 and still plays pedal steel and fiddle at dances twice a week with a 'bunch of young guys' - in their 50s.
I wish I had a friend that played pedal steel guitar.

If you know pedal steel you may know the name Ollie Strong. He played on the Tommy Hunter show, recorded a lot in Nashville, played with just about everyone in country music back in the day. He played on at least four Gordon Lightfoot albums.

age.
Well said. Keep moving and keep playing whatever it is you play. My favourite saying “we don’t stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing”. I’m still playing competitive volleyball in my 60s against some players that are one-third my age

You know you're getting old when you find yourself up at 3 AM Google searching "old" jokes.

" Don't worry about getting old, you're still going to do dumb stuff, only slower."

yep!

When I was 24 two guys about 20 yelled over to me, “Sir do you the time?” And when I was 25 a 21 year old girl said to me, sheesh you are over the hill now. :(
when I was 19 I went to my Aunt's 40th birthday party. Thought to myself "40? I got a long way before i'm 40." Snap of the finger, shit, here I am 42. Not impressed.

You owe Walter Mathau a royalty payment for that first joke. 🤣

I have heard the name. I love the instrument and the only thing that sounds better is my wife’s and children’s heart beat.
