I think I was 3 years old when I watched this. Preschool.

Damn.....memories.

It was the song that jogged it.
The theme song reeled me in as a child. :) The cartoon was also an inspiration for Mike Myers' SNL "Simon" character.

CBC used to sometimes sandwich this cartoon between episodes of "The Friendly Giant" and "Mr. Dressup". It was a holy trinity of morning television viewing for a kid.

Ah, yeah, a couple others I liked way back when. Also someone brought up Visionaries (though it was pretty short-lived). Some others I left by the wayside suddenly coming to mind:
Robotix
Inhumanoids
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
Centurions
Captain N
Kidd Video (still love several of the songs from this)
Krazy Klaws and Quicky Koala
Jem - ok, yeah, I watched it
Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines
Shirt Tales
Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show
Garfield and Friends
Muppet Babies
The Flintstones
The Jetsons
Space Ghost
Dynomutt
Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends
Superfriends
Herculoids
Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids
Godzilla
The Pirates of Dark Water
Voltron (lion version)

There's a lot more, too - just impossible to remember them all. I really do miss the heyday of Saturday morning cartoons.:(

This made me look up an old toy line I had a vehicle and couple figures from - anyone remember Eagle Force? Things we couldn't find out back in the pre-internet days, the reason Eagle Force died out was the company that manufactured them, Mego Toys, shut down abruptly in 1982 before the 1983 scheduled release of the second series of toys.

I remember MM's character 'Simon'. Loved that he did that. "I like to do drawrings".

And yeah, I used to watch the same cartoon lineup in the morning on CBC, back when we only had about 12-15 channels in total.

You're getting all obscure on us! How about Rubik The Amazing Cube? Before the internet days, I fought with people that this actually existed

Trying to figure out how many of the Loony Toons characters I'd have to get through before ranking anything else. Oh yeah, I know we're combining them into one but... Daffy, Bugs, Foghorn... damn. Plus I watched these with my dad, so they get the added meaning.

Two I haven't seen mentioned (apologies if I missed them) are Speed Racer and Starblazers. I also recall watching a Tarzan animated series.

Also liked the Pink Panther, Hong Kong Phooey, Fat Albert, Wacky Races and Super Friends.

When I got a little older (the 80s) and my brother and sister were watching cartoons, the stuff I didn't minds watching with them included Inspector Gadget and The Smurfs.

There's a good one. I've got the entire cartoon series on DVD, I need to introduce it to my toddler. Wacky Races was great, as was the later Laff-A-Lympics with many of the same characters and more.

My favorites are the classics, followed by a few from my own generation.

Looney Tunes
Popeye
The Flintstones
Tom & Jerry
Disney (Donald Duck, Chip 'n' Dale, etc.)
Woody Woodpecker
Smurfs
Scooby-Doo
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
The Transformers

I'm not including some newer ones, like The Simpsons, since I was already an adult (well, not when they debuted, but when I started watching) and wanted to limit the list to ones that were my favorites growing up.

Oh dear. I remember that... unfortunately. Apparently, it consisted of only 13 episodes and ran for only a year (from Fall '83 to Fall '84), so it's no wonder that people missed it. We were just "lucky," I guess.

Yeah, I've watched that one - it didn't last more than a few episodes before getting cancelled did it? I don't remember watching it that much.

That's the old school one, right? With his little centaur sidekick?

Anyone else old enough to remember watching reruns of Rocket Robin Hood, too?

I was too young to really remember, but my VHS recordings of that (and the Punky Brewster cartoon, Kidd Video, and everything else that was on during that time) were around forever. I think I had 2 or 3 episodes of Rubik at most between those VHS tapes, so even my exposure was limited!

Shoot, Popeye is another fave. I even taught my little boy to do the Popeye laugh at around 1.5 years old, he would send people into hysterics when he decided to do it randomly
