I'm with you.

I'll also add the non stop reverence to cops and military. It's an out of control propaganda campaign that I find very distasteful.

I can't agree with you on that one, I'm always down for giving cops/military/fire fighters a tip of the cap, they put their lives on the line for us.

Nobody is putting their life on the line to light the fake manora, haha

This is me forcibly reminding myself of the "no politics" rule in these threads. :)

As someone whose spouse was honored for 35 years of fire and bomb squad service at a game, I can tell you those recognitions ARE meaningful to those who are honored.

For the pizza fans. Queue this up somewhere in the house/office and watch the insanity after the first 10 minutes.

My biggest pet peeve is with the team. Many times over the years the team has gone on a good run mid season while on a road trip. The schedule then has them playing a Saturday or Sunday home game and there is a big crowd. Each time I feel as if it's an opportunity to really help build the fan base. Then they play a terrible game and get blown out.

OMFG yes. Drives me up a wall. It's like they know and it kills 'em, or something.

So do garbage men, fishermen, loggers, truckers, roofers, power line workers, pilots and many more. All of these jobs have much higher fatality rates. I've never seen any of these groups given mention at a hockey game. Certainly not EVERY game. LOL

Slow starts killing mid-to-late season attendance is kind of annoying if you want to take this further.

How much of our (casual) fan base has already moved on?

Dude, better to quit this argument, you're not going to win. I know you might be trying to be funny, kinda, I guess, but man, that's really misguided and harsh if you are for real.

Let's just drop it here and get back to bashing RyJo's work eithic!

You are literally safe enough to be exercising free speech on an Internet forum and can go to watch hockey games as entertainment because of our military. If you can't stand and acknowledge the sacrifices they make for us on a daily basis for 30 freaking seconds of your 3 hour night at Nationwide Arena, I suggest you stop going to said hockey games and move to a country where they do not appreciate the military of their country or have limited to no military presence.

I don't agree with CR, but "America, love it or leave it" was worn out decades ago.

Hey, that might be another pet peeve of mine! How many do I get?

In summation: nothing is ever good enough for everyone

Nationwide could drop bank bags full of cash and still some would be annoyed that there wasn't more in the bag.

When I think of how insane folks get when tee shirts drop, I can only imagine the riot anything of real value might ignite!

Yes, I'd be annoyed.

I go to Nationwide Arena for hockey games. Not pep rallies for ex soldiers (many of whom were never near a combat zone) every single game.

I happen to be the son of a military officer. And the grandson.

Your assertions about why I have very limited freedom of speech and why I can go to a hockey game are laughable.
