Watched this CCR doc/never before seen live show at Royal Albert Hall in 1970. I never have been a fan, but holy crap was John Fogerty great! The documentary part was generic but the live performance was tops.

Above is just the audio from Born on the Bayou and it's just great.

Individually the songs and performances were great. He is a great singer and clearly the brains of the band. The concert as a whole was a little repetitive to me though because their songs are so simplistic.

Yep, great performance. I agree about their music, album-wise it's pretty basic and I don't like folksy-rock like Lookin Out My Backdoor, but this version of Born on the Bayou is almost grungey or shoegazey.

Soviet cult punk, year 1989.

Fine and Eternal

Projector of Perestroika lights up the Perestroika
The builder of Communism adores Communism
The KGB worker approves the KGB
Any correct bullet loves its gun

The Party is the mind, honor and conscience of the era
Fine and eternal
Fine and eternal

Concrete freedom reigns in cast-iron cities
Propaganda posters control brave heads
Inertia runs docile bodies
And we don't exist, we don't exist, we don't exist, WE DON'T EXIST

The Party is the mind, honor and conscience of the era
Fine and eternal
Fine and eternal

National anthems thundered generously
Forbidden books burnt down quietly
Triumphal salutes pealed over the world
A destroyed louse clicked under the nail

The Party is the mind, honor and conscience of the era
Fine and eternal
Fine and eternal

Spring is going to last long
The field awaits for fine grain
And we live in a fair land
But we don't exist, we don't exist, we don't exist, WE DON'T EXIST

The Party is the mind, honor and conscience of the era
Fine and eternal
Fine and eternal
