MacKinnon kind of reminds me of a RH Hall.
He is essentially Hall with better hands.
Although I think Hall may be faster and plays more of a physical game.

Hall is fast, but Nate definitely takes this. You're probably right about the physical game, but that could change once Nate matures. I still think Hall with better hands is a good comparison.
MacKinnon's first few steps are insane.
That's guys 14 years ago and 20. Lots has changed in scouting since then.
Johnson is a defence man to whoever brought him up, more bust potential. Look at the first forward taken in every draft since 99. Who's the worst? Jordan Staal? Who's second worst?
Nate is a pretty safe bet.
He's approximately in the same tier of prospect as Stamkos and Tavares were imo.
No. Sorry. He doesn't have the floor of a 1st line player in the NHL.
what is his floor then? you are implying that his floor is less than top 30 at center, which given his two way game, seems highly improbable IMO.
Maybe Stamkos, not Tavares.
Stamkos has actually exceeded expectations which is not usual of a 1st overall pick. Tavares was a greater prospect than Stamkos or MacKinnon and will soon be in the NHL's elite along with Stamkos.
I agree. I do think MacKinnon has a slight edge in a few respects. I like his balance better, and his defensive game is ahead of where Hall's was at the same time, not that I would put much weight on the latter anyway. I do think he is a smarter player than Hall overall, while he does not play quite as physical a game (although it's still excellent for this type of talent).
I have high hopes for MacKinnon. If he ends up at the same level as Hall, then the team that drafts him will be ecstatic. As much as I am loving the Galchenyuk pick for Montreal, I think MacKinnon is a true game breaking forward that would work perfectly for Montreal in a 1-2 punch scenario down the middle. Of course, this is assuming Montreal somehow gets in a position to take him.

They aren't comets. Most comets are at least a few hundred metres across and are much rarer than asteroids, meteors, and general space debris. That said, there's a much greater chance that MacKinnon will be a bust, though I think he was being facetious.
You'd think he would though, considering he's better at hockey than all of them not named RNH.
Anyways, he's not going to "bust". He'll have a regular spot in the NHL regardless of production. He's big and skates better than many NHLers. Only thing that'll determine top 6 or bottom 6 is if he suddenly becomes stupid.
