Sacramento, California — California lawmakers on Monday cleared the way for 5.7 million people to get at least $600 in one-time payments, part of a state-sized coronavirus relief package aimed at helping those with low-to-moderate incomes weather the pandemic.
Gov. Gavin Newsom said he will sign the bill into law on Tuesday, one day after it passed the state Legislature by a wide margin.
Fewer people will get these payments as compared to the federal relief checks Congress approved last year. But state lawmakers are aiming the money to reach the pockets of people who were left out of those previous checks, including immigrants.

Great news!! The senate has passed the bill! So unless the House does something incredibly stupid once it goes back to them for final approval & or Sleepy Joe mis-spells his name when signing the bill into law, we should have our checks in the next couple weeks! Don't spend it all in 1 liquor store!!!!

Update: The House just voted final approval so Sleepy Joe will be signing the bill into law by the end of the week & we should have $$$$ in the bank (if you have direct deposit) by the end of the month & likely sooner!
