What are the best and different ways to watch all Leafs games (and how much do they cost)?

I’m still doing the NHLCenterice thing since I’m outside the Leafs region. I know I could probably make better use of the money I pay, but I’m happy enough with what I have so I don’t really look around for a better deal.

I used to have Directv back in 90’s/2000’s with a “pirate card”. Problem was, I got addicted to it so it was actually a good thing when it all kind of got shut down. Nowadays, the only TV I watch on the regular is Leaf games.

I know these big conglomerates are scamming/exploiting all of us but I try not to think about it too, too much.

Curious what your experience or insights are about IPTV on Apple TV. I've only heard decent things about AppleTV, at least in terms of the official Sportsnet and TSN apps (which don't get good reviews on any other TV-based platforms/devices really).

I was hoping to try IPTV first with whatever device we get (Sheild Pro, Apple TV, Formuler Z11), then if that isn't reliable enough (we have a big leafs fan who won't tolerate inconsistent or poor quality streams), then I'd go with official or sideloaded(?) TSN/Sportsnet/Amazon Prime apps. From my research (I've done way too much), it appears Apple TV is the best option for a device that can reliably do both. I've heard mixed opinions about Sportsnet and TSN apps with the Shield Pro and others.

Of course if IPTV doesn't work reliably on Apple TV, we could take the Apple TV back (or keep it) and get a Sheild Pro or Formuler or Amazon Fire Cube/stick, but I'd rather save the hassle.

Any insights from others also appreciated!
it is not that is doesnt work properly, its that there are very few quality 'players' and most are paid, so, you will need to try a few and spend some $$ to figure it out vs an andriod based device (including fire stick/shield/android box) where you get the sucky (but free) smarters player, or buy Tivimate (the king of iptv apps)
if you are paying for sportnet/bell etc, just use their dedicated apps and they work fine too

I stopped using mine about 5 years ago. Think I had a MAG ###. Recent housing cleaning had it go to the recycle bin.

At the time the Government was ramping up charges against providers, and many providers were very concerned. The target was providers but the threat was also against consumers. There were options to record, and with how cheap GB's are today probably not a space issue.

Not sure how valid this is today, but ...

As someone has mentioned not all these "providers" are equal, and my experience don't expect any guarantees. Perhaps some of the better ones will provide support, but this isn't exactly something you could go to a complaints department for.

Today Sportsnet+, Cable, Prime have not missed a game. Sportsnet+ records so you can watch live or after the game.

If you have a relative or old enough kids you can pay half price for Sportsnet+, you know ... ;)

If you use prime frequently, why would you pay for shipping when you can get a membership and get free shipping, on almost everything. Some international items may cost you shipping, but not Fedex type prices, but something.
IPTV on a Firestick 4K cost breakdown:

$55 for the Firestick
$10/month for IPTV
$4.50/month for a VPN

Wait what?

$40/month is a good deal. Are you able to get these TSN and Sportsnet add ons with your Prime membership? I subscribe to the Sportsnet+ app and it costs about $25/month alone.

If you can get all the games for $40/month can you send me the links with the details so I can do it myself next year.

If you have prime you can add the two sports networks for about $40 and you can use it at other locations. The prime content is actually good and every now and then I save big on Amazon deals anyways. On of the best was portable USB touchscreen 1080p monitors for laptops etc. Retailed about $150 each, got 3 of them for $40 each less $40 instant rebate each. So yeah $0 for those and prime membership paid itself for years.

Disclaimer. I loathe Rogers and Bell. The alternative is Vmedia ISP and TV as well as Freedom mobile who I think is buying Vmedia. So that being said Bell Rogers gets less of my money. Vmedia for sports was not smooth when I had it.

Hope that helps

Yes this is also an option. Grey zone TV

I have an Android box for the last 5 years. 20 bucks per month for every channel known to man. I mean everything. Legacy tv channels, all streaming channels, all sports networks and all ppv.

I can't recommend it enough. All you need is a decent, stable internet connection.
What is this "android box?" Can you link it please (or someone on this site).

You're not referring to Roku are you?

I just pay the $200. That’s seems cheap to me but I like the choice of watching any games/teams I want. Probably 10-12 games a week, so a bit of a hockey junkie I guess.

Okay good to know, so it's the 'players' or User Interface (UI) apps that you are talking about, and not actual IPTV providers. I was worried you meant IPTV service providers aren't good for Apple TV. But from my research, IPTV service providers should not care which device you have, Apple TV included.

I guess you've tried the UHP player on Apple TV? I've heard there is Tivimate for Apple TV as well, along with other options that people think are good enough.

What is that and is it legal?
IPTV is a grey zone if it's not provided by a legit company like Teksavvy or Vmedia. Except in these cases, it's likely illegal (copyright-wise, not illegal in any other 'serious' sense) to broadcast it, but not for us people who just watch it. Sort of like illegally downloading music - people don't care nor do governments much.

Older folks, or those not tech-savvy, or those who want 100% convenience sometimes are just better off paying more for Cable TV, whether its through Rogers/Bell or their subsidiaries, or a smaller guy like Teksavvy or Vmedia. From what I understand, if you want IPTV from Teksavvy or Vmedia, CRTC rules state you must also buy your internet with them.

Im thinking of going with Apple TV (one-time purchase for their device), as it has relatively easy (emphasis on easy) access for both IPTV (provided by a reliable local guy), or if that fails, it also has easy access to official TSN, Sportsnet, and Prime TV apps. In addition to being able to cast from our iPhones/other Apple devices.

If you are a long time user of the Apple ecosystem then the Apple TV route is a no brainer, it has a powerful processor and outstanding picture quality.

At the time we had 3 sets on the go, so it did only work for 1.

So cable for 3, and IPTV for my games.

If money is critical go cheap (IPTV), if convenience is more important you pay for it.
Yes, I still have premium sports from Rogers as I need my sports in 4K and not on delay, however, it’s fantastic for AEW events and American TV channels and a **** ton of movies.

I have a solid IPTV provider - We're all set up via firesticks here. Gamechanger for sports and PPVs

AEW is exponentially better than the garbage going to Netflix.

That could not be further from the truth. AEW’s story lines don’t come close to WWE. It’s not even a comparison or competition.

The tribalistic sheep are real.

Meh I enjoy other promotions, I like TNA and New Japan. I just think AEW isn’t that great. It’s not run as well. AEW might be slightly better in ring performances, but it lacks story telling/good promos.

Slightly better? lol.

Not all fans need 33 minutes of talking/recaps/vignettes per hour of “wrestling”.
