Just got home from the game. Hooked up with an old friend and caught up and we won so that was fun. Hope Josh is okay.

Well you picked an interesting game to attend -
What are your thoughts from where you were sitting?
I feel asleep listening to the play by play and color guy :sarcasm:

We will need some fresh bodies on D I would guess.

EDIT: Just read from @DharmaBum that JoMo should be Ok... :thumbu:
I'm not sure what that translates into from Maurice talk. When he says day-to-day it turns into weeks or a month, so him say Morrissey should be fine maybe means day-to-day. :dunno:

And the JetsTV hosts said they say Josh after the game and he looked to be okay, no noticeable limp or any such thing.

My thoughts were we should have been able to dial it in and easily control the game. Instead some bad calls and iffy PK play and we were in a battle. Copp's goal was a bit of karma that we deserved.

Thanks -> Yes, I forgot to apply the "filter"... but am still optimistic.

Post-game audio:

Players: Wheeler, Copp and Hellebuyck.

Coach Maurice scrum topics: What does he make of that game? How big was Perreault's goal? Update on Josh Morrissey and Nathan Beaulieu? Was there any scenario where he'd consider putting Brossoit back in? What can he say about the way his four D played in the 3rd? What goes through his mind when he sees Merzlikins gave up the puck late? Did he see Blake Wheeler try to "take over some shifts"? On his exchange with Brossoit. Grey Cup talk.

Quick thoughts...

CSL - Oof... They really struggled. Connor with about 5 turnovers on failed zone exits. It was almost comical. Laine had no legs and no hands. Scheifele not much pop.

EWR: Wheeler driving the bus tonight. Huge game from him. Ehlers was flying. Roslovic with a good game. I really like this line, and Wheeler continues his good play at C.

CLP - Not as dominant as they are sometimes, but they are so solid. Copp is a beauty. Lowry with a very nice pass to Perreault.

LGS : Oh my goodness, they are terrible! Shaw is utterly incapable of handling the puck under pressure. Luoto has no idea where to be or go. Gus needs more speed.

7-4 Pionk with a really gutsy game. His effort level is good and he has great mobility. He's a good find. Kulikov tries hard, but he just doesn't have the game to play this much.

44-3 Poolman still makes mistakes, but I like how his game is developing. Didn't notice Morrissey much, even before his injury.

88-5 : Might be the worst D pair in passing in the NHL.

Brossoit with some very good saves, but did seem to be fighting the puck at times.

Refs were atrocious.

Why wasn’t Brossoit allowed to go back? He was surely more warmed up than Hellebuyck.

Wheeler and Ehlers best forwards. Wheeler should stay at C.

Refs almost gave the game away to the Blue Jackets. Hooking penalty when someone grabs your stick? Get out of here.
Because Helly is the better goalie and Mo wanted to win.

I’d say Roslo and Wheeler were the best forwards. Roslo was more involved than Ehlers. Made a beautiful pass and hit a cross bar.

That line has been great ever since they were put together. A little bit of puck luck and they’d have a lot more points.
I sure hope Maurice doesn’t mess with that line once he has the option to. But knowing that Lowry is slated for that 3C position no matter what, I’m not too confident Maurice would move Little down to 4C

A very gutsy win but there are some legitimate concerns in my mind regarding Laine and Connor playing on the same line. They are awful along the boards in their own end and they lack chemistry whereas the other lines seem to have some.
Could Scheiffle be the problem??
Anyhow, hard to believe they're in a playoff spot.
They are showing grit and work ethic despite the lack of talent on d , a porous powerplay and a first line that looks anything but fine.

Oh yea Go Blue Goooooo

We don’t know when Little is back. I’m not guessing till I know the timeline.
