What are the chances he pulls a Justin Williams and signs just before the deadline? I wouldn’t see it being with Chicago since they won’t be a playoff team but he could wait and pick the top contender to chase one last cup

Seems his health is going to decide this. A personal matter so hard to speculate on that. Especially if it's still issues with COVID since it's only a 4 year old disease.(they grow up so fast)

My buddy in Chicago told me that even before covid, Towes was one hit in the head from being done. Apparently he has had major concussion issues.

He might be wrestling with himself about the wisdom of taking the risk

Him and the Blackhawks organization have been on-the-record saying he's played his last game as a Blackhawk. Both parties agreed to move on. So there won't be a contract with Chicago.

I figured he'd probably retire, based on his health concerns and whatnot. But I did think there was a chance he'd try for one last Cup somewhere else, or play a year for his hometown Jets.

Then his last game as a Hawk was treated like a retirement send-off. Let me tell you, the vibe from that game screamed retirement. I honestly believe he's done, and will call it a career. There's a million reasons why it just might not be public and official yet. But that's what I think is happening.

I think the above poster is probably correct.
Given his numerous concussions coupled with whatever his most recent illness was about ( be it a covid or vaccine related issue I think unfortunately JT's HOF career may have come to a close.
He was an amazing player and in his prime was everything you could of asked for in a 1LC and captain.
