So much care mad.

There's a reason they swung for Rantanen. There's a reason they swung for Guentzel. There's a reason they swung for Tkachuk.

This roster isn't quite enough. It's enough to get to the ECF. It's not enough to win. It's hard to get, and keep, all of those pieces.

There are two options, basically: evolution, and revolution. Slow changes, or big wholesale changes. One of those approaches wins way more often.

Good teams routinely lose for years until the right pieces click into place so that they can become great teams. Including the team that's beating us right now.

Maybe Rod isn't the guy. But again: be careful what you wish for. We knew this was a transition year, and most of y'all would have been delighted with another run to the ECF. You're just mad now because we're seeing the limitations of a team that everyone knew was flawed.

This team doesn't have the firepower -- but they have a strong system, players that buy in, and consistency. That's *incredibly* hard to come by.

I'm glad that fans who are angry during the emotional moments don't actually have the power to make changes. This team has more young talent coming, enough draft picks to make some interesting deals, and a lot of money to spend in the off-season. I'm not happy now, of course, but the future is still bright -- if nobody does anything stupid.

Brindy is in over his head at this level of the game.

I'm tired of him propping up our slow grinders that barely ever contribute anything offensively as our best players. Singling out Staal and Martinook last night when Stanky played his nuts off for 60 mins just shows a complete infatuation with the kind of players that lead us to this result year after year.

Rod did praise the four rookies as some of his best players on the ice. That group would include Stankhoven who is looking g like a great acquisition.

All of this is true and yet all of it doesn’t and shouldn’t add up to consistently getting swept and the 0-15 stat just gets worse and worse.

There is a very real mental dynamic to all of this that needs to be solved in parallel. Everything you said above is true, and yet this is also not the same team we were watching a week ago. We don’t deal with bullies well and we need to. We do drastic pendulum swings between trying to not care and getting smoked, and trying to care too much and losing our minds. And it’s not a personnel thing. To me that’s the Brind’Amour thing. Boston in 19 was “they’re better than us and what a run.” These last two against Florida have been flat out getting mindf***ed by a coach and team who fully has the upper hand over RBA.

Rod can figure it out. But he does, in fact, need to figure it out.

I genuinely think he's too proud and stubborn to realize his system isn't perfect and needs to be adjusted to fit the modern game,. especially in the playoffs.

Maurice was ass for years, bouncing from job to job despite having some good teams and good runs under his belt. What he has done is taken an honest look at his deficiencies and adjusted them to how the game is played now. He encourages his players to hit the shit out of everyone, he encourages that away from the play and after the whistle stuff because it always works. It's worked since the Broad Street Bullies days and has never gone away. And it took many failures for Maurice to go in that direction.

Last summer, when he was on with Ovies and mourning the loss of Pesce, Skjei and the gang, he acknowledged that some adjustments needed to be made after the last playoff exit but did that really happen?

Such a strange season…if Necas hadn’t had his hot start to keep their head above water early on and NJ/NYR hadn’t had their odd breakdowns, the Canes would have probably been in the WC spot and could have maybe avoided all this condemnation on the national stage.

For a team that has confidence concerns, this could be really hard to come back from…what a legacy to bear. Thus far, the past ousters haven’t translated to better final outcomes the following year so I am not sure it will be motivational.

This team needs to continue to get blasted by the media on all fronts and the entire organization needs to see it. Dundon shouldn't be happy with this kind of attention.

Just a humiliation of an effort for the Canes this week. You can't play a series like this and come away thinking we are just one of 2 players away, it goes so, so much deeper

What's disappointing is that big strong guys like Burns, Staal, Martinook don't step up when needed to protect their smaller guys (even if they have to fight). Fights aside, they never play chippy either and that is often needed in the playoffs.

Only guy that has done it recently is KK and he is probably getting banished to off the team this summer.

It's either in their DNA (Burns hasn't had a fight in 9 years) and/or coached by RBA.

The 4th GDT should include a drinking game predicated on things likely to happen but rare enough so we make it through the first period.

Maurice was the Lenny Wilkens of Hockey. Great coach getting way more than he should have out of a lot of mediocre teams. Except, unlike Wilkens, he's now got a great team, and what do you know, he's got a Dynasty brewing.

....sigh, right on cue...

Rod, excuse me for being blunt, but you absolutely have to advocate for your players standing up for themselves and their teammates, especially in the playoffs, regardless of the score. This turn the other cheek shit hasn't worked since the f***ing 1960s.

Although the 60's was calmer than the 70's, each team had at least one enforcer. Talented Montreal teams had Fortunato & then John Ferguson, two very tough characters

And some on here have been advocating to trade him for a goon to add size.

Easily our best player this series. At least best forward, it's Stankhoven and Slavin and a whole bunch of passengers.
