To be fair Morrow ran Chicago’s powerplay. That’s how he became an AHL all-star. I still would rather see Nikishin for the lol’s but if Morrow isn’t even a PP guy what the hell is he?
He played in the Ovy spot for almost his entire time in college. He can play the pp, he just isn’t that experienced at running it. I suspect the reason for that was his decision making with the puck, which isn’t the best.

He’s a huge question mark as an NHL’er is who he is. For all the skill he’s never played a smart game, always relied on his talent and size getting him by. I didn’t see how he played in the AHL, only the points. I don’t know that I believed he’d make it long term in the NHL after watching him at umass.

I think it’s ok to admit Florida is bigger, stronger, meaner, and more talented all while playing our style of play. This is David and Goliath and for the foreseeable future we will likely have to go through this team so they need to figure out a formula to win against them or its always going to be like this.

I mean that’s fair for what he did in college, but Nadeau played the Ovi spot in Chicago. If he is who you think he is they need to trade him yesterday.

I didn’t say it at the time, but the reason I was so upset about the price we paid for Jake was because I wanted them to include Morrow instead of those forwards. Obviously I knew how badly we need young d, and I still felt that way. I don’t have faith in his brain figuring it out. He’s worse than Hanifin was when he started (at 18 and Morrow is what…22?) in his own end, and he played offense like Necas did his first five years in the league. His own coach didn’t trust him to play first pair at full strength or late in games if he could help it, and wouldn’t let him run the point on the pp despite the kid scoring more points in team history. He was a junior and the coach treated him that way. No letter.

I agree, play him as you need him to be. I would just let Burns run it by himself here though. The kid still has a long way to be a regular. He skates great for a big guy and he tries. No brain.
