He tries to do it gently because these guys are human and he tries to treat them with care and respect even when he is making a performance related decision. That's why he has such long term sticking power with the room. He's trying to build a culture of genuine collaboration and respect rather than coming in as the boss, screaming for a few seasons, then getting tuned out and fired.

As frustrating as that can be with his loyalty to certain guys, on balance it's far better than the alternative for long term results.

Oh I completely understand why. I don’t question Rods good will towards players.

so anyway, my prediction is chatfield and walker both can't go in game three. everyone gets happy and sad, with nikishin and morrow both in.

slavin - burns
nikishin - orlov
ghost - morrow

2 minutes in, burns' stick snaps and impales him.

2 minutes after that, marchand pulls out a shillelagh and beats ghost into a coma. (no call)

a few minutes later, a bad change forces a nikishin-morrow pairing. the roof of the building splits. divine light shines down from heaven. super-saiyan animation happens in the real world around the pairing. they play the remainder of the game. one continuous ~50 minute shift. they stay on the ice during intermission, skating around the zamboni like orcas circling a sick whale. florida doesn't score again until 2027, such is the power of this pair.

eddie o commits seppuku live on air, but only after none too briefly mixing it up with bukkake.

Honestly in my view it has nothing to do with Nikishin at this point. Dressing Morrow to either pair with Ghost or not play is just flat out unfathomable and unacceptable. I’d take anyone else or 13-5 over that. I understand it’s a shitty situation with Chatty hurt but Ghost Morrow is just accepting a loss.

Last time I felt this unexcited about a Canes playoff game was 1 2 years ago. Game 4 vs the Rangers.

We will see if that’s a good omen.

last year? Don’t think we played them 2 years ago. Last year I missed game 4 since I was in Paris. Maybe I should’ve flown to Paris this morning…

So two things here.

Obviously a win means they finally won a ECF game but it would also give them their 4th road win these playoffs. Under Rod, they've never won more than 3 road games in a playoff run.

They did manage to close out a series on the road so, it can be done.

With that said, just f***ing win please.
