I have no problem with Mcdavids reaction.

We don't see where he is looking, it's dying seconds and he just got finished getting mugged for half a minute straight while the refs watched. It wasn't near as vicious as ones he has received by these losers, and we don't even see if his eyes are on the midget, or trying to find the play while he just throws what he intends to be a hard retaliatory check to the shoulder to separate himself.

And if he was trying to take his head off? Even better. Don't let the game get to that point if you don't want to see that.

I hope he calls out the officiating if he does get suspended. Doubt it, but it would 100% be justified.

So yeah, whether it was entirely intentional or not, dgaf. We can live without him for a couple games if needed. The team has been great, and after a long roadtrip and this being the Canucks Stanley cup game I can accept a 1g loss, especially if it means that little f*** Garland feels it tonight.

Good on mcdavid for standing up to that punkass garland. Can't let losers like that push the team around if the refs aren't gonna call it. Garland should be thankful that Kane is injured.

No big deal, the boys were tired so take the loss and and move on but these early lapses have to be of some concern.

The 2 game suspension will be a blessing in disguise--more gas left in the tank for the playoffs.

They were exhausted, look at their schedule. Nobody should be "sad" about the result yesterday, team was quite clearly running on fumes. The poor starts need to end though.

What I want to see is McDrai end for a while. Get Draisaitl back on his own line and send Brown to the glue factory because what's the point of this guy being up if he's not going to punch faces. That's what's "sad" to me is that McDavid has to cross check a guy in the face because opponents can do whatever they want to him and nobody is jumping in to protect him or at least show him that he's not alone out there. Team needs to nut up somewhat, a little too soft for my liking.

The team is exhausted. Our top players have played a ton.

I’d still like to see more of a push from the guys who play less. I get it … plane rides … time zones etc but I don’t think we’re getting enough from several forwards.

Not sure I’ve seen a media try so hard to get someone suspended especially a star player. It’s honestly bizarre.

I am all for the NHL protecting players and head shots. I wish they would do it more honestly. But the NHL rarely protects its players and does everything half assed. The cross check feels like a bit of a nothing play that happens pretty regularly in the NHL.

I don’t think McDavid getting some extra rest in the middle of the season is such a bad thing with how much he plays honestly though.

One can only hope Mcdavid has a very open and honest conversation with DOPS, he should throw everything at them as their fault. With multiple evidence to back himself up. Get a game or 2 yes for sure but make them feel the heat.

League hates its stars. Think about how much the NBA promotes LeBron over the NHL promoting McDavid. Mcdavid gets slashed and hooked every game and gets almost zero calls.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at McD hearing. As they watch the video of him being tackled and held. He then says so y’all don’t think that’s multiple penalties right there? Bunch of goofs.
 
The Oilers need to take a fine on this one IMO and absolutely blast the NHL officiating. These refs just declared it open season on Connor and that needs to be put to bed immediately. How it's possible they let a guy without the puck get held and harassed for 20-30s with no call, until they called McDavid's penalty. Disgraceful.

Rip'em a new one Oilers management! Protect your captain other wise forget any sort of playoff run this year as other teams will just do the same thing.

It doesn’t bother me. It’s the double standard that gets me. They let people pick on oiler fans in the mains and we just have turn the other cheek or get points/warnings and our posts deleted. That mcdavid cross thread was a prime example of what I’m talking about.
 
In 8 games J.Brown has 9PIM. I don’t recall him fighting anyone. We’ve needed him to answer the bell a few times and we’ve got nothing, what is the point of this player? If Knob is going to keep dressing him he needs his head examined.

McDavid did the right thing. Refs are BS in this game and it got out of hand. This is on them! If you don't stand up for your self who will?! It went from hockey to WWE in the last 1min in the 3rd! Oilers as a org need to call out the refs and league for letting this shit happen.

The officials had somehow decided they wanted to help Vancouver before the game started. They got the added benefit of a win and McDavid likely getting suspended for a couple games.

We’d have more energy if we had a full four lines and didn’t play Josh brown…woof
Knob usually seems failed in but his lineups lately leave a lot to be desired
 
Whats the point in having Josh Brown dressed in the line up again?

That was a shit show.
Myers should get 5 games for that crosscheck.

Mcdavid should get 2 games but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they gave him more because I want Connor to have a good break.

The reffing was atrocious.

Draisaitl is a goal scoring machine.
