With Montreal waiting for their C prospects (Hage, Beck, Kapanen, Xhekaj) to be NHL ready, what would the cost be like on a guy like Wennberg?

Feels like he'd be a solid fit on Montreal as a stopgap 2C for the next year and a bit, and could help Montreal with their playoff push.

I know San Jose's prospect pool is pretty nutty so not sure how appealing picks/prospects are, but the package would likely consist of those.

Stopgap? Hey I love Montreal, you guys know I do. But Wennberg would end up being Montreals 2C for the next 5 years. We have all seen this story before.

Let it play out IMO

Wennberg has a no move for this year and a 15 team trade list come July. I think the only thing that makes real sense at this stage is if Carrier was available.

Reactions: Natey
We really can't afford to move Wennberg. He's an adequate 2C and provides some size and defensive ability to shelter the teenagers in our top-6 and we desperately need it. Unless it's something you don't want to part with, I don't see a deal here. B prospects and mid round picks don't do much for us now.
