Post-Game Talk: Well we knew it would be a slog

Not finishing. Only two players finishing for Panthers. Reinhard shot wide 2 feet on a breakaway. thats some lol stuff.

Panthers are a good team, with vast majority of their lineup on a scoring cold streak. Both are true.

Is it really a cold streak when they haven't done shit pretty much all playoffs?

Shit special teams aside, this series would be 2-0 if it wasn't being so heavily managed for 'fairness'

Not sure I can agree today. We had a lot of PP"s Its our own problem we didn't get enough with them and gave up a shorty.

Barkov has played decent in playoffs and made some pretty good plays. All of Barkov, Reinhart, and Verhaege have 17pts and they are complete ghosts in this series. All botching plays, chances.

I can't believe people still want Frederic out after tonight lol. That was the best game he's played for us and the coach skated him with McDrai because of it. When Florida was winning all the the battles, he was getting pucks out and tipping pucks in.

How embarrassing when Great Keith comes in here making more sensible posts than so much of the stuff in this thread. It’s a phenomenon I’ve never seen before.

Anyway, I'm don't wanna complain about Stu. It's gonna be his net and I'm gonna stand behind him.

Two coin flips. One win and one loss.

Overall I'd say the Oilers have been the slightly better team over two games. They were better in game 1 where as game 2 was pretty even.

Gonna mention the unmentionable, how soon before they go to Pickard? Stu played a great game overall but they took advantage of all the Stu peccadillos: too deep in the net, lack of lateral quickness, overreaction to get himself out of position, poor play of the puck, and weak on breakaways. If Bob is going to play out of his mind for periods, we can’t have weakness in our net.

Well, if my memory is not failing me, this team has been pretty lackluster in the first two games of the previous 3 rounds, specifically on the defensive side, killing themselves or nearly so with defensive gaffes. By game 3 they locked it down defensively in each series, hopefully that trend continues.

Skinner let in a horseshit goal after a great recovery by Drai on Marchand, it was bad. I am more concerned at how Florida took over in the second period with a ferocious forecheck and we generated almost nothing the rest of the way except for the extremely fortunate Perry goal right at the end. That second period was painful to watch, the third Florida went into a defensive shell and again we generated little to nothing. They are very difficult to play and their goalie is clutch.

The power play was ass, Florida has a great pk. And you can’t be giving up breakaways in a tie game in the SCF.

Can't fall asleep in the second like we did in both games. Had so many mistakes throughout. Clean them up and we'll be good.

Nurse was pathetic that game. Guy really needs to dig in for the rest of the series because he's been a liability out there. Out of position often too.

We still don't have a good answer to their third line either, but the good news is their other lines aren't generating many chances

Anything worth winning won't come easy Did you really think Oilers would break Florida? Oilers play well on road and always bounce back. No need blaming any player for loss. 2 evenly matched teams going at it and you will have ups and downs in the series. Oilers take game 3!!

Kane should be on a line with one of McDavid or Draisaitl.

Kane-McDavid-Brown/Frederic
RNH-Drai-Perry
Skinner-Henrique-Frederic/Brown
Podz-Janmark-Arvidsson

Yeah, I would get Skinner in and Kapanen is the option to come out. He has been good, but played second least among forwards and doesn't kill penalties. Skinner brought energy and surprising grit in game 5 vs Dallas. Scored, +1, 3 shots, and 3 hits. He also plaued in the East a long time and knows the Panthers well.

One of Frederic or Brown needs to step up in Hyman's absence.
