Post-Game Talk: Well we knew it would be a slog

The series is tied 1-1 but for some reason it feels like we're down 0-2.

I feel like it’s very much 1-1. Feels like we let an opportunity slip though. Really need game 3.

We really need to get so more point shots with traffic at times, not a lot of chances when the panthers are rolling, need to get some greasy ones .

We haven't played a complete game yet either. This is a tight series that likely goes 6-7 games. Durability and luck may decide the winner of this series. This series is going to be won by razor thin margins.

I'm not sure Bryan. What does an A game look like when two teams are this good? I do think the Oilers had an A game or close to it in game 1. I don't think they played poorly tonight. They were hammered all over the ice by a Panthers team that had immense desire in this one and have a physical edge.

I do think it would impossible for McD and Drai to be any better than they have been.

We're not getting much from the horses now.

Needs to be remembered a lot of our depth lineup have had heroic efforts all playoffs. Eventually that gets harder and harder to do.

I feel like we didn't see the Panthers game until tonight, and I'm a bit worried that Barkov and Verhaege and Reinhard have been completely ineffective. That doesn't usually happen for a whole series.

For Oilers we need Nuge to be getting more. Really with Hyman out thats a big blow.

Absolutely understand that. I would have liked a save there too. It might be an idea for our defense to stop letting Brad Marchand of all people get behind them. It was a well battled game by both teams. I kind of agree with Bieksa who said that 1-1 is a fair representative of how these two games have gone. Need to regroup and take game 3.

I said before the game the Panthers would be better than they were in game 1. They were. No real surprise. It’s an even series. This loss should shake them up a bit. I grimaced when they had a chance in front and made an extra pass.

100% that was the game. You cannot give up a shorthand go ahead goal in the playoffs. It’s a miracle we tied it and gave ourselves a chance but that just can’t happen.

Mistakes are going to occur, fatigue is going to occur. Bobo bailed out his team around a dozen times tonight with at least 10 fantastic stops.

I see comments like this and wonder if we even deserve players like Booch. "what have you done for me lately" in a game the guy was aces in.

he had a G and 2A in just the first period and was disappointed he didn't notch another goal. This is how much he cares, this is how much he matters.

No one is sneaking up on the other team in this series. Both teams know each other well and knew that it would be a war. There will likely be no "I caught that team off guard tonight because they didn't think we were that good" types of games in this series.

Throwing Savoie in against one of the top 2 teams in the league after a month or better of no game action is asking a lot of the player. Had he gotten into a game or 2 earlier in the playoffs it might be more of a viable option right now.
