Welcome to The Temple of the Phil: The official Phil Kessel Meme Repository.

Wow. I'm still rolling from that incredible video! Well played!

It's actually funny AND emotional. Didn't know if I should be crying or laughing.

Funny thread. Kessel is the man, can't wait to see him score 50+ goals 100 + points and win the Cup.

WAR PHIL!

Well, seems kinda unlikely now.

His production is not what we have expected but that said his overall play is MUCH WORSE than his production. And that drives me crazy. Couple that with his awful 2nd half of last season and you have to wonder what kind of player Phil Kessel actually is. Maybe he´s just bad now. His play on the ice surely indicates that. His shot is laughably bad and his passing as well. If not for Malkin, his production would be on par with Kunitz.

Hopefully this post magically resurrects him :help:

Sure. Let's go with that instead of the rest of his career. Sounds reasonable enough.
I just don´t know. That´s why I said "maybe". You never know these days. Sometimes the players start to decline at 28y or so. I surely hope that Kessel wakes up, but where are all of those shooting and passing skills he was supposed to have? The speed, we can see it occasionally, I will give him that.

This is the kind of player he is. If he's not scoring, he's not doing much else.

And right now he's just in a cold streak.

That said, he has missed quite a bit of Grade A chances so far this year. I wasn't expecting him to miss so many opportunities.

Yeah, exactly. It´s quite shocking actually. Because you can´t even blame Johnston´s system for missing those great opportunities. Phil ****ing Kessel is supposed to be a goal scorer and when he´s missing those chances it´s even more painful than when everyone else does it. He just needs to produce, period.. otherwise he can **** off (sorry for that but yeah).

As for the cold streak.. there was also the terrible 2nd half of the last season and that fact scares me. That´s why I have those doubts.

I'm pretty sure literally every Leaf was bad that second half. They gave zero ***** under Hornacek, so I'm not worried about that really.

Phil will turn it around. Eventually those shots will go into the net.

So three of our stars (Sid,Phil and Tanger) who relie heavily on their speed are having bad seasons (for their standard). Might have something to do with the system. I don't know.

That said I hope Phil is able to switch his stick. In Toronto he carried the puck much more by himself and did not need to take on a lot of passes. That changes a lot with Sid/Geno. He looses way too many passes on his stick.

Phil started out ok, but hes been pretty bad for a while now.

I still can't get over how bad Phil looks on the bench after a long shift, we might need to get a oxygen tank to keep on the bench for Phil.

sorry for bringing up an old thread but I searched Pittsburgh for Kessel and have a Q.

is there a site I can check to see how often Kessel played with certain teammates if possible. I'm havign an argument and apparently Kessel barely played with Crosby? I feel like that's incorrect but have no idea where to look.

Thanks!

I don't know where is best to look. But Phil hasn't played much with Crosby.

You could use left wing lock or behindthenet. But to solve that anyway, Kessel played with Crosby for like the first 7 games in the season and hasn't played with him since.

Crosby isn't in Kessel's top-10 linemates. Just from watching all of the games, he has played with Kunitz, Perron, Malkin, Bonino and Hagelin all more than Crosby. Kessel is solely a RW and Crosby and Hornqvist have excellent chemistry, that's why Kessel doesn't play with Crosby.

Thanks guys. I'll just take your word on it that he didnt play much with him lol (i assumed he would of been with him).
