Bouchard honestly should be bag skated for that. Turned a game in our control into a circus for no reason. Good player but he just can't help sabotaging early season games for some reason. Knoublaugh is not helping the situation by not having any accountability, he should have been benched after that first give away.

Skinner I'm not even going to blame him too much for that one, he is what he is, a back up goalie. It's just becoming more and more evident. You're going to have to get another goalie into the mix we have now to at least push the two guys we have at minimum, if not overtake them.
I mean Knob benched Drai for a shift. I think Bouchard probably should have gotten the same treatment. He needed a wake up call tonight.

Yep we are nearing the QTR of the season mark. How long is this organization willing to wait out getting below 900 goaltending consistently.

Even calling up Pickard was big to stabilize our goaltending last season and he was in the AHL for past 5 years. Imagine a goalie with some recent NHL success. Who knows.

Game is 1000% on Bouchard.

Goal 2 - how can you expect Skinner to get set when the goal essentially teleports to Matthew Knies because of a dumbass, low awareness clear attempt?

Goal 3 - Might look like a breakaway goal, but until the very end it wasn't. There's no way Bobby McMann should have won that race.
Bouchard never even tried, he was coasting…..COASTING! What kind of spineless coach puts up with that garbage?

Bouchard give away was horrendous.
His glide wasn't as bad as ppl make it.. He was skating until he saw Ek had a step closer than him.

Skinner sucks. There's no denying it. We need an upgrade

He should have been benched after the first turn over. Knob got what he deserved tonight honestly. You gotta lay down the law. A Sutter or Torts would've killed Bouchard for making that play and buried them at the end of the bench, Knob just throws him back out there.

I get it maybe it's the Paul Coffey thing of "get back out there and make plays" but there's gotta be some consequences for doing that.

Not true. He skated till he saw Ek was closer.

He coasted into an area that maybe the puck gets punched out to.

His giveaway was the absolute horrible play

The match penalty results in the player being tossed from the game. Not sure what you think the Oilers ought to have done. Just go at somebody because Reaves is an idiot? Every player on both benches knows he is.

I told what they should have done. One of their top players should have been ran head first into the boards. Reaves being gone helps the leafs. We lose a top 4 d man for how long? It’s f***ing embarrassing they did nothing.

RNH, both the Skinners, Podkolzin and Bouchard.

Maybe 3 or at least 2 of those need to go.

Keep any that produce. So Bouchard it is. As bad as he is defensively, but RNH, the Skinners and Podkolzin need to go man. These guys are what you see. Thats it. Nothing more. Trash

I like Podz and think if the Oilers are patient with him they'll have a good young player, but yeah it sucks watching him not score.

Though case in point it took Nichushkin like 21 games to score his first goal for the Avalanche as a reclamation project. Because they were patient it paid off for them.

Wasted the goal by Henrique as well in this loss. He's not gonna get many this year playing in the bottom 6 with the Stonehands Quintet down there... so when he does pot one... would be nice to get a win at least. He scored in game 4 and in game 18.. and I'm thinking a couple goals every 20 games is about it for him with the crew of offensive misfits he plays with.

Ahh yes. A plug hurts another player so the proper response is to…injure another player who had nothing to do with it.
Shit like this is leaving the game and I’m here for it. We shouldn’t need star players careers ended or lives changed because another idiot was being an idiot.

This f***ing team is embarrassing. To have your player taken out like that and do nothing? One of their stars should have left on a stretcher, not be scoring game winners.

I don’t care. Take a suspension. It would have been worth it. This team deserves to lose.
Shit like this is just gross dude.

Nichush could skate like the wind and stick handle, Podkolzin has zero stick skill, low IQ and just seems to get by by grinding. I don't know man. This guy is a bust from what I'm seeing bro.

Podkolzin will be nice to have in the bottom 6 when Kane is back, but I'm not sure what he's done to remain elevated this high in the lineup. Conversely (Jeff) Skinner has only ever been worth putting on the ice this season when he's been higher in the lineup. Seems like both are being misused.

On every other team in the NHL every mistake does not end up in the back of their net. That breakaway goal could have been played better by a peewee goalie. A goalie has to make a save now and then, Skinner makes very few when it counts. Please put up a video of Skinner making a good save in today's game, I don't remember anything above average. As far as patience, do you see him progressing over the last 3 years?
You can't tell with goalies. Look at Tim Thomas. A different coach and some summer training could change things. He is still young so anything can happen. Hasek didn't set the league on fire until his 30s. He was seen as unorthodox and Scouts doubted Hasek's ways.

He has a .915 SV% what would our record be with that goaltending?
With bouchards' giveaways, our record will still be the same.

His IQ is decent, he makes some good passes and reads. I'd like to see him get a little time with McDavid, just to see maybe if he can generate some more time and space. Dude is super strong and a handful on the forecheck, he just goes through players on the forecheck.

It's not like our line combos as are doing great anyway, shake it up a bit.

Patience my friend. There is a player in Podkolzin. Watch again, his IQ isn't low. Some of his passes are really good and he works hard. Zero stick skill, I partially agree with. I've been impressed with how he has been able to find the open man every game and make those tape to tape passes.

In what world were any of the 2nd, 3rd or 4th goal in any part McDavid's fault? You'd have to do some serious mental gymnastics to spin that. I can't remember if he had any part in the first one.
Technically he was the last Oiler to touch the puck the first 3 goals against.
Not his fault but him being on the ice were factors.

Closing in on the 1/4 mark of the season and still don't have a 3rd forward outside of McDrai with as many goals as Kulak... this teams is dryer than Furnace Creek when it comes to consistent offense outside of the usual Draisaitl and McDavid duo dragging the team along... again.

Skinner... RHN... Hyman... Arvidsson (when he's healthy which won't be often with how injury prone we all knew he was)... they all haven't been good enough.

It's actually a small miracle this team is grinding along above .500... thanks to JUST the stellar defensive play of the team overall.

Ryan should be down and Philp should be up as well... it's so obvious that Philp is ready and Ryan is cooked... but it takes management and coaches weeks/months/years to see the obvious moves.

This is not being harsh, it’s what needs to be done. The players emotions have shown that they feel the same way.

Tim Thomas? Him and Skinner physically are polar opposites. Weird comparison.

I dont agree that a Leafs player should have been injured BUT there should be an answer of some kind. Crickets shouldnt be an option but when a team is as soft as this team currently is then thats going to be the response 10 times out of 10.

Wild that this is the only place that I see Skinner being hated on and wanting him replaced. Like the media in this town goes to bat for him like few others I have ever seen. None of them even mention how awful he has been. It's like I'm taking crazy pills when I listen to the media defend the Moustache TM.

They'll run a guy like Arnott out of town for farting in their general direction, or shit all over a Russian rookie. But their goalie has a save % lower than the Mendoza line and they don't see the obvious staring them right in the face. Local kid makes good narrative on steroids.

Can't believe these morons handed them the game after that brutal hit on Nurse.

They'll make the playoffs but this ain't no contender
