I liked Torts take on this whole thing FWIW.. essentially told the reporters that this whole sideshow is created by and for them, but they need to get to a level where there's that level of emotion over the outcome of every game regardless of who they are playing.

Said the right thing there but how come he has been around so many sideshows? Coincidence?

Did this situation (Cutter not signing) have anything to do with Torts? Not being a smartass, genuinely don't know.

Anyways I'm no blanket Torts defender/fan, he's had his ridiculous moments over the years. I just liked this particular sentiment. Let's stop looking for reasons to create a playoff atmosphere and just do it for real.

Yes, for once I agreed with Torts on something.

But the sideshow was created by his own bosses. No one knows what really happened, but the fact that Briere and Jones and Hilferty went on a PR blitz back when Gauthier was traded means they probably f***ed up negotiations with the player and were trying to control the narrative and make a villain. The franchise itself then hyped this matchup and put tickets in the most expensive tier of Flyers games this year.

This was literally marketing to cover up some organizational incompetence, and the OP is proof that it worked. But it's embarrassing. Seeing how loud and raucous that crowd was just reminds you of how far the Flyers have fallen. The arena used to be like that every night because the team was good, not because fans had been told to hate some rookie on f***ing Anaheim.

Some clips or more descriptions would be nice. Did they target him physically? Was he dry-heaving on the bench?

I wish I could have watched the game. Seemed more interesting than the vast majority of the games that took place.

Also, once again people have no idea what "living rent free" actually means.

If OP brought this up as a Flyers fan after a Ducks game against anyone else, that's living rent free.

Bringing it up as team bested the Ducks on the street and in the alley... I'm sorry, but you're just butthurt over a pathetic performance by your team.

I'm glad you could clarify the textbook meaning of the internet phrase "living rent free." 🫡

I love the tribal ape like reaction philly fans have with their sports , more fanbases should be like this , mine is

That said Cutter Sucks but so does Drysdale
lol funnily enough, when I read the OP, I got a very Kotkaniemi-thread vibe from it.

The rest of league forgets it happened, the fanbase clings to it for ages.

“Ya, we combatted his preconceived notions of us by f***in yelling at him, we are a lovely community ya goddamn piece of shit!”- Philly fans.

It was pretty tame stuff, but they were definitely roughing him up a bit whenever they got the chance. Crowd was chanting a lot. Seemed like a fun night for them

Absolutely bludgeoned by Philly fans all night. Looked like a deer in the headlights.

From the hockey side, his low IQ and low compete was on full display. Embarrassing showing
There is low IQ showing but it’s this thread starter not Cutter. Embarrassing.

enjoy drysdale i guess. he f***ing sucks and will be injured most of the time anyways

gauthier's numbers aren't great, but one look at who his linemates have been and it won't surprise anyone. he continues to get plenty of chances, just a matter of time before more of those chances start going in

congrats to philly on winning their version of the cup last night

Cutter was just chillin…. It was a lose lose if he responded to any of the flyers butt hurt behavior. He just turned the other cheek and went through his night.

Mature behavior for a young player, love to see it.

Michkov was the real coward in this game
