Welcome to the NHL Cutter Gauthier

For those of us who didn't watch the game or the Flyers some context would really help.

The Flyers organization is butthurt that he didn’t want to play for a garbage organization. They tried to make this game between two bottom feeders into an event. The only winner is Anaheim as they moved closer to a top pick while the Flyers moved away from one.

On the contrary, last night revealed the flyers really dodged a bullet.

Rookie forward had a bad game, finally something to raise your first banner over.

Edit - don't get me wrong. I understand there was going to be some heat/hate there, Ducks fans have been on the other side of it with Justin Schultz and booed him the rest of his career. Some of you guys are just weirdly emotional on this one.

I wouldn’t call getting an older softer injury prone player dodging a bullet. Gauthier might never turn out to be a top player, but he has a much better shot at becoming something decent than Drysdale.

Difference between a market that cares about hockey and ones that doesn’t on full display. Fits Quitter better for sure

I live in a Canadian market and work in the game. There's a difference between normal fandom and living vicariously. You are super emotional about this even after it's over and done with. There's no thread here, you just want to celebrate what seems like a huge victory to you. It's a random Saturday game between two bottom feeders, no one else cares.

Is a 20 year old rookie being intimadated really what Philly celebrates now? This is Torts third year. Did you guys expect better results by year 3?

I wish I could have watched the game. Seemed more interesting than the vast majority of the games that took place.

Also, once again people have no idea what "living rent free" actually means.

If OP brought this up as a Flyers fan after a Ducks game against anyone else, that's living rent free.

Bringing it up as team bested the Ducks on the street and in the alley... I'm sorry, but you're just butthurt over a pathetic performance by your team.

I liked Torts take on this whole thing FWIW.. essentially told the reporters that this whole sideshow is created by and for them, but they need to get to a level where there's that level of emotion over the outcome of every game regardless of who they are playing.
