Skip to 20:45. That was every Blackhawks fan reaction last night.

I think we need to play the "draft game" (i.e. not trying to win) next season for the purpose of getting good draft position in the 2024 draft. However, whereas before getting Bedard I thought we would be playing not to win in 2024/25 too - now, depending how well the 2022 and 2023 draft picks develop - maybe we transition into win-now mode in 2024/25 rather than 2025/26.

One more season of playing the draft game or two more seasons - either way there's light at the end of the tunnel and that light just got closer and brighter by getting Bedard.
I agree on next season, I said after next season 23-24 if we are still trying to get a top 5 pick it isn't healthy for Bedard and long term success. Superstars need to be in a winning culture and now that we officially have him, I imagine KD is going to quicken up the plan now and rightfully so. Our defense and goaltending will be questions next year but we can still bring in some offensive help through free agency to help Bedard and still be a top 10 draft team next year.

Well, it happened......pretty exciting.....now let's surround him, Reichel and Nazar with some toughness and hope he has the "awareness" that Patrick Kane has----he's not the biggest kid.

I wouldn't be mad if the Hawks resigned Domi.

Say what you want about the guy, but he can play and won't let anybody push around the best player in the NHL.

I said it.

I can see Team Canada giving a huge role for Fantilli at the 2023 Worlds.
Score 5+ goals, 10+ points, win gold at mens worlds... at 18, you never know

Toews was 19 BTW. when he won the gold at his first WC for team Canada.

I'm thinking Fantilli might be upgraded version of Toews.
We won 3 Cups with Patrick Kane. Plus, almost every prospect in our pipeline are rather big and fast. Bedard will be well protected AND the Blackhawks have 14 picks (6 firsts / 8 seconds) in the next 3 years. We'll be just fine contending for Cups with the generational talent from Oct. 2025 and on.
