Just aquire a No.1 goalie and you will suddenly see the team running through the league again...they need a boost and this would be the best to give them, whether it's fair for Stu or not...

Just do something to get them going when other things do not help rn.

It's time to go all in and show the team that it's now on the them to deliver.

We could see pissy Drai last game again...must be the first time this year that says it all.

If you're gonna galaxy brain it by holding one player and one player only on a roster full of passengers accountable, by inserting Kasperi fricking Kapanen into the lineup and elevating Victor Snowpants to the top line, you better have your team better prepared and bought in than this and get some results.

How do you build a roster without an energy line? On nights like tonight (most nights recently, tbh) where the offence is struggling, how can you expect to regain some momentum if you’ve got nobody in the lineup that can throw a big hit. It’s not like we’ve got a goalie that can make a big save for an energy boost either. We’ve either “got it” or we don’t and the more we get into the season the more tired we look the fewer nights we “have it”.
Just a terribly constructed roster this year and we’re left to hope that some kind of life can be injected into it at the trade deadline.
Add a top 6 player, Move Podkolzin and Kane down to bottom 6 and it doesn't look like too bad of a roster. It's not beyond repair

Brown,Kapanen,JSkinner,Klingberg and Arvidsson add nothing. RNH,McDavid, Hyman,Bouchard and SSkinner are having off years.Who knows what E Kane will bring. Making a move at deadline will cost picks and prospects(we have very few) so I feel it would be futile. Trade Bouchard and make moves from UFAs available in offseason. This team won’t take us back to the final
You can't give up on this team. It will only get harder. We've had stretches were we are a top team in this league and we can improve the roster enough to give us a shot.

Giving up after what the boys went through last year is not the answer.

Mattias Janmark was the 4th highest forward in ice time at 15 minutes. Terrible coaching by Knob.

Janmark is this years Toby Peterson. Coach loves him to death and is bound and determined to elevate him far beyond his success threshold.

Jeff Skinner could score 4 goals next game in his usual 7 minutes of ice time and be scratched the next however.

Have we though? We suck ass against the good teams in this league. There are currently seven teams above us in the standings and our record against them is 3-9-1. With four games left against the big boys of the Central I don't expect that record to get any better.

It does kind of seem like Knoblauch's McLellan is starting to show.

Great at getting guys to play his system, but good luck if he needs to adjust anything. Just throw the lines in a blender and see if that helps instead.

Oh it's fair. The guy has completely dropped the ball this year and I don't give a baker's f*** about if he thinks it's fair. f*** your feelings, Moustache. It's time an adult in the room put their foot down and said this level of 'tending is f***ing unacceptable.

Back in 2006, MacT made a major adjustment to our firewagon brand of hockey. When we went up against the Wings, against everything Glen Sather ever stood for, the Oilers started playing the trap.

There was absolutely no video for the Wings to study. There was nothing to fall back on. And when it started REALLY clicking for us, nobody had an answer because nobody really knew what hit them.

I think it's also a symptom of what Scotty Bowman did.

After the wings got spanked by the Devils in the finals, he refused to show his hand in the regular season. He saved everything for the playoffs. Russian-5, Powerplay setup, line-matchups. He just rotated lines in the regulaar season, but never bothered with adjustments till the game mattered.

I'm like 90% sure that's what happened to our Power Play. We are running 1 very "set" play, and showing none of the creativity from the year before.

I'm also seeing a LOT of teams around the league basically copying the same plays we used last year.

It's one of those years that players figured out how to play McDavid and he hasn't found a way to adjust to it. Every other year, it takes a little time for him to overcome this. This year he's really fighting it. It also doesn't help that the league also figured out how to play Knob's system.

Oilers are definitely a coach graveyard. Nothing great after the first year. It's gotta be on the players at this point for tuning out the coaches.

A baker’s f***…I don’t know why but that mixed idiom made me laugh.

Is that similar to a fiddler’s dozen?

Well you can't give up. You have to upgrade this roster where you can. (the so called reason we did not match Holloway)

The NHL has no real power house team this year and with our aging core it will only get worse. It's now or never

Let's see what ya got (Bowman)

This coach doesn’t value energy.

He is Dallas Eakins with a better roster.

“The perfect game is a no hitter.”

I don’t know how much I believe in hitting, fighting etc.

But this team really struggles with intensity, urgency, passion etc.

Maybe it’s coming in the playoffs but it hasn’t been here all year. They have to figure out some way to generate it if they aren’t going to rely on energy lines, hitting etc.

The team has (again) the exact same holes as when Holland started: Depth, defense, and goaltending. Our dream offseason turned out to be a nightmare. Even worse that the departed Oilers are flourishing elsewhere. It's a meme but there really is something in the water here.

I am not specifically blaming much on Bowman for the roster, most of this was done before his arrival. On the other hand we all agreed hiring the guy was a big mistake with his past issues and also how he pretty much destroyed the Blackhawks with his desperate moves. He is a boat anchor, it’s almost karma to see what is happening now. I definitely fear his desperate moves to come, this could be Blackhawks 2.0 coming except without the 3 cups.

This season we have Drai and Perry

And then we have …

And they need to check Knob for a pulse, put a mirror under his nose to see if he is breathing. He just stands there no matter what is happening. No emotion, no passion, nothing. He looks scared, nonchalant, lost, stiff. His team is playing exactly like its coach. Is he really capable of lighting a fire under these guys asses? Honeymoon is over.

I would say that Knob did more adjustments last playoffs than McLellan probably has in his entire playoff coaching career. A series playing the same team over and over is a different beast than regular season and Knob did some amazing work last playoffs. Until he put Nurse and Ceci together again for game 1 of the finals lol. Took a whole 3 minutes to pay for that one.

For years we have played a system based on rush offence. Since Grant Fehr we have won games 5-3. Management doubled down in the off season and went with veteran offence first signings. What we got was older and slower. McDavid needs a winger to do corner work. Drai needs a sniper. Third line needs a center to run over people with Kane and Podz. Bouchard and SSkinner need a mental health break

I find it very interesting, and convenient, that certain posters all of a sudden out of nowhere after a long losing streak are posting a whole hell of a lot in the GDT. Some people just revel in misery
It's called frustration and this is a platform to share it. When things are good all is well. When things are bad, passionate fans get angry. Nothing new here.

I think it’s called “being correct”. Anyone not blinded by their fandom knew our goaltending and defense were not enough to hang with the big dogs, and here we are getting embarrassed nightly during a stretch of playing contenders. It’s not complicated.

I'm still laughing at that 2nd goal from last night. I know Bouchard could/should have closed out harder but just isolating Skinner's post to post movement is actually hilarious. Literally a beer-league level read and movement. Absolutely laughable that this non-athlete is anyone's idea of an answer between the pipes.

Probably because we’d like to take advantage of a loophole for once.

If Kane wants to come back early even though he most likely won’t be ready, he can sit out the rest of the year and get traded in the offseason

If he comes back early instead of letting his team add a pretty good piece at the deadline to improve the odds at a cup, it shows how selfish he is.
Nonsense.
