Regarding Parros having thick skin and the kings being politically correct, I'm pretty sure the call itself was not a pleasant one.

I don't get how it can be that hard to be more consistent with the rulings. I get no two plays are the same but how the f*** is what doughty did worse than getting crossed checked in the face which is only a fine. The league is a joke.

The only Kings that have scored with any regularity the last month have been Kopitar, Brown and Carter. It's time for Toffoli and Pearson to step up and elevate their games. Have some faith that Kempe and Rieder will still contribute this series. Would like to have more faith in Iafallo...just think he's not 100%. Lewis is one to arise in the playoffs, but do not think he's 100% either. He has not looked as
good, since coming back. He's always all effort and surprises us at times, but think he and Iafallo are not 100%, which does not help. If Toffoli, Pearson and Kempe can each score a goal or 2, will go a long way in winning this series. Having to play Ladue, Gravel and Fantenberg this game? They can all play at this level, but need to be their best. I mean, how good are their defensemen like Jon Merrill and Nate Schmidt? No better than Ladue, Gravel and Fantenberg. Is McNabb really better than them, as well? There's 3 defensemen that may not have made the Kings this opening night and yet they were the second best record in the West...tells you it's more about systems and all playing defense as a unit.

Just more fuel for the fire.

You can see in the clip with Doughty talking to their bench where the guy points to his shoulder.

They could have given him nothing and nobody would have batted an eye. So why do they suspend a guy with no history on a debatable hit? Apologies to those that think everything is on the up and up here. Saying the league is in the bag for Vegas is not the same as saying the Kings lost Game 1 because of the NHL or that they will lose the series because of the NHL; however, they got their chance to influence the outcome and they took it. Kings wasted a 1 goal-allowed playoff road game and only have themselves to blame for Game 1 and a loss tonight does not mean the series is over. That being said, I'll go to the grave believing this suspension happened because of the opponent. That doesn't make me "as bad as an Oilers fan": it's naive to think that the business of professional sports is completely void of the respective leagues influencing outcomes--at certain points--when given the chance.

Anyways, good for Stevens for sticking behind his player. I'd love to hear Blake's take on it as well.

Alright, so at some point during 2012 and 2014, the league surely wanted Hollywood to win. First Cup, great stories, big market, etc. When Stoll caught the guy from behind right before Scuderi got nailed, you can make a case for a "missed" call there because they wanted the Kings to win. When Williams pushed the Sharks goalie and the puck went in, you can make a case there because Williams did not touch the puck. Not even close. He completely knew what he was doing too. That was reviewed and everything. King and Lundqvist. If those things are also a league influencing conspiracy, then I'll agree with the Vegas stuff. If those disallowed McDavid goals actually did cross the line, then the Vegas stuff is real too.

If the Kings have had their turn in benefiting from this corruption, then ok, the league wants Vegas to advance.

tonight is going to be one of our finer moments and given that I fully expect the guys to step up and win a 5-4 type game , continue to punish them by finishing our checks , keep kempe going to the net now on the wing with kopi to feed him , we will now have marty and dion on the points for the power play , some here have wanted DD off the first unit , well here you go get those shots thru and fleury gave up some rebounds last game we just need to capitalize on them and keep harping on the dmen not to chase and keep those guys on the outside for the most part and hypnotize quick to think every period is the second and we come home with a split . ........ I wrote 2 or 3 lines about losing and how it would not be the end of the world scenario but I erased them because I just do not think that will happen so F*** IT full steam ahead and lets do this GO KINGS GO GO KINGS GO

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.

I wish we had Vilardi right now. Yes, he could make a difference right now. I'm just happy he'll be here in 6 months. Ok, focus on tonight. Go Kings!

I dunno, I’m watching these other games and the kings showed none of the urgency required to be successful in the playoffs in game one. That has to change tonight.
Neither of these two teams looked like they'd get past the second round. I hope Doughty's absence will wake LA the **** up.

not playoff intensity?

These guys were murdering each other last game. Just because it's not wide open and fast that doesn't mean it lacks intensity.

Hell the Kings are universally panned on HF and if you go look at the series people are most entertained by it's this one so far.

It seems that Stevens just doesn’t want Iafallo anywhere but on Kopi’s wing or the press box. I think had they ever given it a shot he could have been a really effective bottom six winger.

It felt nothing like Blues, Sharks, Ducks, etc.

1 goal in the first 5 minutes and then pretty boring imho. Kings looked gassed in the third. I expected them to bring it but Vegas snuffed it out a bit.

if this does not work today, we must retire it. But i know it will work so it is safe.

I was gonna say game 1 that it's literally failed all year.
Someone please counter that by revising it in English. That stopped working badly.

**** it, I'm pumped.

These guys look pissed.

Gives you that ‘just awoke the sleeping monster’ feeling. Got the same feeling as back in ‘14 when the Sharks were up 6-2 in game 2 and they put they’re #1 power play unit on for a late 3rd period power play. They showed no respect and they just wanted to run up the score. That was the moment the Sharks lost that series. You don’t do that. There is a code and they broke it.
Anyways, yeah, I got that feeling right now for this series as well.

Don’t really agree. Game 1 felt like a regular season game. Not saying that it has to be non-stop line rushes but everything was at half speed and I’m pretty sure the Vegas stat counters hit the casino beforehand and were marking 3 hits for every one.

Watching Winnipeg vs minny or Pitt vs. philly it’s just another level.

Game 1 definitely felt like a playoff game. Contrary to popular belief, there's not that much difference between playoff hockey and regular season hockey.
