Final game before the holiday break. Hopefully we can step away with the win.

Lines and goalies later.

This marks the first game back for Laine. Who is on quite the PP tear for montreal. Glad he’s doing well and seemingly in a better mindset. We have to account for him and their powerplay.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all on HFCBJ.

I wish you, you know what,
to get you there, you know where,
to rejoice with you know who,
to have many things, you know what. 🙂

Don't take penalties and if you do, don't let Laine camp out in the spot we never seemed to put him in on the power play. I do wonder if Elvis did tweak something on the final save Saturday night that led to the Jet recall.

Thread should be more “Welcome Mateychuk” based IMO. Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, there have been probably around a couple dozen former jackets that I’ve had more anticipation for their return game than Patty’s.

That said, he’ll undoubtedly score a PP goal tonight. Over Jet’s right shoulder. I can so easily visualize it, it’s wild.

Guys know him and we have better defense than Detroit or Buffalo. Besides, he can't score goals every game. And at 5v5 he not only skated bad, but obe is playing with Dach, who also hasn't played all season. So, I don't think he and his line will be dangerous.

Jody told 97.1 just now maybe Severson sits. For what it’s worth.
Is he hurt too or just because they don't like his game right now?

I'm also surprised 97.1 is talking hockey. I figured they fill the entire week felatiating the OSU football team and trashing Kirk Herbstreit like a jilted ex girlfriend.

The pairings are

Werenski - Fabbro
Mateychuk - Provorov
Christiansen - Johnson

I'd feel better seeing Christiansen - Severson, which was a terrific pairing for us. I hope Severson takes the message well and plays smarter and harder.

Take this as you will. As I see it, we changed management and he still wanted out. I've always said, you can be a part of the problem or a part of the solution. DW knew what he was doing and needed to get him out of the room as soon as possible.

“I feel like we were just doing the same thing year after year. I was tired of losing and just giving up when it’s December to start focusing on next year. I’m not going to do that. That’s frustrating as a player when you’re trying to win and some people are, you know, not like that.

“They’re a little too satisfied and too comfortable where they’re at. It wasn’t really a fit for me anymore. But here (in Montreal), it doesn’t matter if we’re winning or losing, we’re always trying our best. That’s what I felt about it (in Columbus).”

Laine was pressed by reporters to clarify if he was referring to his Blue Jackets’ teammates or the club’s management.

“I’ll leave that for everybody’s imagination,” Laine said. “But there were certainly, certainly people like that who were a little too comfortable and fine with losing and just doing the same thing year after year. I’m going to leave that up for discussion for everybody else.”

LOL. He’s one of those guys who gave up.

I appreciate the candor and honesty but maybe check a mirror
