I guess I am of the opposite opinion. I would like to see Goldberg back on the road to WM. I was actually never that big of a Goldberg fan but I like the star power, and it would be cool to see if he can still "go." I guess the WWE is a pretty sad state of affairs when I am more interested in an old wrestler who I was never even a big fan of as opposed to most of their current roster.

Also, the spear + Jackhammer combo was always a great finisher.

You don't have to ask if he can still go. He couldn't go before he was middle aged.

Yeah but Rock and Hogan were two generational stars.

True, but I guess I find Goldberg coming back somewhat interesting is all. I mean if they fail the build to the match it could flop for sure, and no one really has faith in WWE anymore, but at least this raises a peoples eyebrow for me and has peaked my curiosity.

The only positive thing about that match would be it keeps them away from **** that actually matters. Which is perfect for both guys since Goldberg is a one off thing (god willing anyways) and Brock shows up twice a year.

The downside is WWE clearly thinks its viewership/fanbase is stupid and they forgot that the last time Lesnar and Goldberg met, it sucked copious amounts of ass.

The only way i could enjoy it is if they turn it into a big spectacle like they did with Sting and Triple H.

Neither could Hogan but The Rock vs. Hogan at WM was an awesome match. Not every match needs to be a technical masterpiece.

Hogan was not a technical master by any means, but his list of classic matches dwarfs Goldberg's.

I can think of 2 good Goldberg matches.

Vs. DDP at HH98
Vs. Jericho in 2003

Cattleprod of Doom match was great

also I think I warned you all this was going to happen when the 2k17 promos with him started ramping up that this was going to happen...

Same thing happened when they started plugging Sting for 2k15. And to a lesser extent, the Ultimate Warrior with..2k14 i think?

When they start showing off their new game with a bonus star who hasn't been seen in a while, it becomes a question of when, not if.

Notes from Wrestling Observer Live.

WWE are going to make creative changes. Last weeks rating was the straw that broke the camels back.

Sure. I bet they went from 26 writers to 22.

I'll believe it when I see it.

The video packages for the cruiserweights and women were intended to be part of a renewed focus on character development

Mmhmm.

There will be changes in language. Wrestlers can say 'fans' now instead of 'WWE Universe'

:dunno:

They are making a renewed effort to give wrestlers big entrances that make them look like stars

You can give Joe Schmo off the street a big entrance. You have to believe and carry yourself as if you're a star. One of the biggest stars ever, Steve Austin, had no pyro or ********. Just walked out and posed on the ropes. The music was a big part of it.

Meltzer liked Lana's outfit a lot

I saw it online. Who didn't?

Meltzer thinks they are over using eye pokes

I haven't noticed many but then again, I don't make it through a three-hour Raw anymore.

WWE are in advanced talks with Goldberg. "Its in the strong discussion stage, at worst"

Already posted my thoughts on it.

Alvarez thinks JeriKO should stay together, Meltzer shot him down

I would LOVE to see JeriKO take the tag titles.

Meltzer thinks Neville is under-utilised.

No ****. Send him to Smackdown.

Meltzer thinks Tom Phillips is normally funnier than the two comedians they brought in to banter with Jericho and Owens

Well, Tom's a geek. He's like Mitchell Cole back in the day.

They may be building to Jericho v Owens at Hell in a Cell due to Rollins's injury

:(

Meltzer thinks Tony Nese is a goober and they should be building Rich Swann instead

I don't care about Tony Nese. Swann is GOAT.

Meltzer can't believe they only just noticed Emma is hot af

The gimmick change for Emma happened because someone high up had been checking out her instagram page

No **** she's hot. She's only been working for your company for the past 5 years and they've just realized this?

But really... Emmalina?

They did start saying 'fans' last night though, and right at the start. Cole had to stop himself from saying 'universe.'

Tony Nese is really good. Swann is better, but I don't have a problem with what he did.

Yeah but Rock and Hogan were two generational stars.

As long as they lay out something great, Goldberg can be manufactured to be a show stealer. Look at what Diamond Dallas Page did for him. I just don't trust that they'll break out from their twenty-finisher-kickouts formula which doesn't fit Goldberg at all.

AJ Styles with Goldberg could be fantastic.

NONONONONO. We're not letting Goldberg even have a chance of killing Styles. He already ended my fav of all time :(. Not gonna let you risk another!

What could a 50-something year old Goldberg contribute to 2016 WWE? Do you really want to waste a month of your best talent's career for this hack?

Alternatively; Samoa Joe.

Two human tanks stiffing the **** out of each other. I'd pay to watch that.

You don't want Lesnar to lose to Joe? Goldberg will work just fine.

I would have trouble with that match. I'd be totally fine with a Joeldberg match if Joe went over, but if Goldberg won, I would prefer it to be against almost anyone else.

I don't think Goldberg works well with bigger guys who rough people around. That'll the mentality that gave us WrestleMania XX. I think he's better with smaller tacticians.

...just obviously no superkicks this time, for Kimi's sake.
