Pre-Game Talk: Week of We Talkin' 'Bout Practice, Man...

Dallas playing Petrovic over Dumba. Seems like they want to go giant Dmen and see if they can slow us down. Bichel 6'7" and Petrovich 6'5" should be interesting...

They’re going to be flipping pucks high in the air out of their zone all game long. We need to pounce on those and come right back on the attack.

Only Harley and Ceci(somewhat) can make a pass.

So, we have no idea if Landy plays or not, or how the lines look if he plays (or not), or if Lindgren is good to go (or not) ... and neither does Dallas.

We are comming for you DeBoer! What a waste of 10 days mother*ucker!

If he's an option he should be going game 1 but I'm guessing they might still feel he needs to actually get more acclimated with the NHL pace first perhaps. And they're probably gonna do the Game 3 thing instead to hopefully get a huge emotional bump on home ice.

Personally I'd play him game 1. I saw enough with the Eagles that I think he's an upgrade over most of our bottom 6 already today, but I also trust the team to go win both games in Dallas anyway so lets see how it goes.

Start him in game 3 when you can control the line matches. If we have a bad first two games he can provide a boost, if we win the first two games the boost will see the foot on the throat and the Stars completely destroyed before we get the brooms out for game 4.

I get wanting to debut on home ice but:

1) Landy getting two road games in likely makes him feel way more comfortable for game 3 at home

2) If you are worried about line matching him on the road and want to control that at home, that to me means he isn't ready to play. If he's playing, it's gotta be full-go. None of this attempt to hide him BS. That hurts us.

I agree. I also think he’d have less nerves going into his first home game since 2022 with a game or two already played in Dallas.

While that’s a positive sign, he’s also been on the “fourth” pairing with Middleton.

Bednar doing a weird EJ-Malinski third pairing with two righties. I guess the idea is EJ even on his off side is better than playing Middleton.

I don’t think Lindgren will be ready for game 1.

Seems like Lindgren is good to go, but if they're in this situation, they should be playing Malinski on the left side not EJ.

The better puck handler and skater is usually better on his off side.

Not sure why they didn't experiment with this during the regular season or the last few meaningless games.

It looks like Malinski and Middleton are the healthy scratches.

Pairings today:

Toews - Makar
Girard - Manson
Lindgren - Johnson
Middleton - Malinski

Vogt got them right, it was Montano with his daily screw up reporting EJ-Malinski together.

That's clearly what they are worried about, what else could it be? He's not in pain and at this point it's not a couple more practices with the team on the road that will make a difference.

If he starts on game 3 it's because they want to control the line matchups with Landy.

Not totally surprised Bednar may go with EJ. Both have arguments IMO.

I am a bit surprised they didn't go G-EJ and Lindgren-Manson. Seemed like they were interested in that before Manson got hurt.

That said, I keep wondering if Bedsy is throwing out smokescreen with these lines and Gabe's jersey color. Would be a gamble not practicing the lines you're gonna use in the playoffs though.
