The Avalanche are the first team to have wrapped up their 82 game regular season schedule. We have a week of rest, practice, and preparation for the first round playoff matchup with the Dallas Stars.

First things first... all of the AHL call-ups have been reassigned back to the Eagles. This doesn't necessarily mean all of our injured players are healthy as the Eagles still have 3 games left to play and the Avs have no games this week, so they've been sent down to play their games and could still return for the playoff roster if needed.

We were missing 10 players over the past week, all considered day-to-day other than Landeskog who had a very successful conditioning stint with the Eagles. Landy hasn't been recalled from the conditioning stint yet. There's a slight chance he sticks with them and goes on the road to play the 3rd game of his stint(allowed 3 games), although that's unlikely. We will see what tomorrow holds when the team should be hitting the ice for practice.

Coach Bednar spoke to ESPN yesterday before our final game and stated that only Lindgren is a concern to potentially not be ready for game 1. No concerns with any of MacKinnon, Makar, Toews, Nichushkin, Lehkonen, Drouin, Manson, or Colton.

We can use this thread to track our practices this week and readiness before the playoff series with Dallas starts.

Can we also talk about enlarged prostates in this thread, or this is strictly the week of practice talk?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind Landeskog going on the road to play his 3rd game with the Eagles.

He said his body and his knee feel fine but he's tired. Get more game reps and hopefully get as close to ready as possible for game 1 to be a difference maker.

How many minutes did Landeskog play in game 2?

I hope he goes as well. I think it is good and needed for him to have game speed minutes even if it is AHL game speeds. It still will help him his reaction time.

It also would make me feel a little better about spending $30 to watch his second game if I got a third game out of it. 🤣

I’m intrigued to see what we do with our lines, assuming everyone is healthy and Gabe is back. We have a wide range of weapons to play various teams and adapt. If we need weight we have players like Vesey and Wood over Kelly and Kivi. I think we go with lines of:

Lehkonen-MacKinnon-Necas
Drouin-Nelson-Nichuskin
Landeskog-Coyle-Colton
Kivi-Drury-LOC

Landy can only stay 6 days on the conditioning stint, so he won’t be able to play the third game

Edit: unless TECHNICALLY the stint didn’t start until Friday which was his first game

Still can’t believe the captain may make it back. Such an amazing turn of events.

When he steps back into the locker room as captain, only 9 players remain from the team with whom he last played. And two of those players - he played on the ice with them less than a third of a regular season.
