Good time for an update in the new calendar year. This season so far per/60:

5th in Corsi %
2nd in Scoring Chance %
15th in High Danger %
12th in xGF%

All numbers at 5v5. So long as the Avs can continue cutting the high danger chances down the team should keep winning.

I guess it’s somewhat good news for Wedge. Could have been much worse. Avs players need to stop pushing opposition players into their own goalie. They’ve done it to Blackwood also. Just don’t do that shit

I actually thought he showed some flashes offensively, but to me he looked lost and scared to make a mistake defensively. He had opportunities to go slightly out of position to make a defensive play and either elected not to or didn’t understand he could. Let’s hope we see some improvement there.

Is this considered a Miner transaction?

Habs lost tonight to Chicago 4-2 despite being the much better team. Soderblom was outstanding for the Blackhawks. Montreal put up 40 shots.

Laine missed the game with a flu and Savard is injured. Wondering if both will be out for our game tomorrow night.

Montembeault was in net for Montreal tonight, but it’s not a given he rests and we face the rookie Dobes. MSL has used Montembeault both nights of a B2B already this year and after losing the seemingly winnable game tonight, he might go back to him tomorrow to try and get a point or two.

Caufield continues to be hot for Montreal, we can’t leave him alone in front because he will pick the corners and get on the scoresheet. Suzuki and Hutson playing well for them as well.

I'm actually worried a bit about the Habs game. They've been carried recently by their bottom two lines, and historically MacK and co actually do quite poorly against good bottom six players. Our depth guys are going to have to come to play in this one. If we win I think it's on the back of our bottom six, not just our top guys.

Montreal at home, B2B for them and a few players sick or banged up... And with their Backup in net....

What on earth can possibly go wrong tonight..... :dumbo:

It’s just a matter of time before the Avs lay an egg. Hope it’s not against Montreal tonight though. The AVS have a couple of games that matter less against Florida and Chicago coming up.
