I like the reality of the Avs being in a playoff race for the first time in a long time. They NEED to start playing with more urgency and effort.

If they grab a playoff spot, chances are they'll have been playing good hockey for the last 2 months of the season. If they don't, they'll have gotten exactly what they deserve.

Either way, it's time these guys have a fire lit under their ass by being in a race down the stretch. GO time.

Interesting part from Pärssinen's recent Finnish interview (my translation):

"I like Bednar. He's different from Andrew Brunette. Here we look a lot at different statistics and watch videos. We look in-depth at our own and our opponent's play."

He was also happy to be traded from Nashville to here.

There was a pretty good arcticle last spring about the analytics that the team uses, and Sean Walker said it was something he had never experienced so far in his career.
