Let's try to be a little realistic. That isn't gonna happen any time soonYou all just need to move on.

It will probably ease up after today and especially after this season, hopefully after we eliminate Dallas.Let's try to be a little realistic. That isn't gonna happen any time soon
We'll see. I think if he does much of anything in the playoffs and Dallas eliminates us, people will turn on him. People are so fickle. It will probably ease up after today and especially after this season, hopefully after we eliminate Dallas.
It's fine if people turn on him, he's playing for the Stars now. I hope he gets a loud cheer tonight for all he did for this team and organization, and after that he's treated like the rest of the StarsWe'll see. Colorado had better come to play today. You know it’s gonna be rocking
Yeah maybe cheer for the video montage if there is one. Boo when he touches the puck. Laugh when he falls down. Cry when he scores. It's fine if people turn on him, he's playing for the Stars now. I was/am supposed to go to the game today, and, of course, I woke up at 5am with some kind of stomach bug. So, likely giving my ticket to my daughter's boyfriend now.
Oh, they're will be numerous asshats with Dallas Rantanen jerseys there.Oh yeah, you know the Stars fans will be loud as hell. Can’t wait.

If Georgiev hadn't been as bad as he was, and instead treaded water at an acceptable 0.900 level it's probable that we'd still be stuck with him on the roster as there wouldn't have been such urgency to make an in-season move. Silver linings...I was thinking about our playoff position as well as the beginning of our year with Georgie in net...I was guessing he cost us at least 10 points give or take.
Go to the game, find Mikko and give him a huge hug.
f*** Mikko because GM wanted to save pennies and traded him behind his back? Thought Avs fans would have some class and back bone.
The biggest problem here is that 12 million in Dallas with no taxes is like 12.7 to 13.5 million in Colorado if you factor in the length of the contracts with taxes on all eight of those years, I believe. I think we can agree that Rantanen wanted 13 million dollars from the Avs and even though Mikko is 90-95% of a 13 million dollar player, he isn't better than MacKinnon in any right and why the Avs went 11.5 to 11.7 with him. By all sounds of it, him or his agent weren't willing to take a Stanley Cup discount, which he has every right to conduct, but Avs have every right to surprise him with a trade to a location he hated (or his GF hated). No he didn't. We are talking about what he could ACTUALLY do. He could only sign in Colorado at that point, and he only had the Colorado number on the table.
You are implying, that Mikko was fighting over 400k (on top of what the tax difference might be). That's just factually wrong. If both parties truly wanted, the deal would've been done. Mikko wasn't desperate to stay, he wanted to stay but wasn't about to beg CMac to sign him to a massive discount. And CMac clearly wanted Necas+Drury instead of Mikko once that became available for him.
Pretty much this. I think once Necas became available to them, they were going to make the trade no matter what. Well, unless Mikko had suddenly came up and said "I don't need a raise, give me the exact same contract as I currently have". CMac really liked Necas, and saw an opportunity to get him and Drury for cheaper, and it would be mostly a lateral move on the ice because Necas really fits the system (we will see about the playoffs though). Mikko saw how this team almost let Landeskog to free agency, and though that he would have the same leverage. At the very least, until TDL was mere days away. Instead the Avs pulled the trigger 1.5 months "early".
I think there is one turning point/faulty party here, and that's Mikko's agent last summer. Mikko and the Avs almost had a deal done, then the agent got the Draisaitl contract done and they started pushing for more money. After that, it has just been a series of "unfortunate" actions by both parties that lead to the divorce. And "unfortunate" in quotes because in the end the Avs might be better, and Mikko got more money and a desirable landing spot too.
Toews is the only Av who has taken a discount in CO... I was all for trading Mikko in the right scenario(which as of now looks to be the case), but Mikko seems to be the scapegoat for getting his worth. The biggest problem here is that 12 million in Dallas with no taxes is like 12.7 to 13.5 million in Colorado if you factor in the length of the contracts with taxes on all eight of those years, I believe. Kadri was willing to take SCF discount to stay with us, and with hindsight, his contract is looking overpaid, but underappreciated. I feel that Avs are the ones which lowball a lot and won't ever overpay; Grubauer, Rantanen, Kuemper, Trenin, Burakovsky, Compher, and others. That is why we don't truly have a bad contract on the team, but that is why we have lost a ton of talent since 2022 as well. Mikko can get his worth, he has all the freedom for that, but I don't really see how we're "scapegoating" when his agent has been shady AF in his tactics. He can say all the "I wanted to stay, I wanted to negotiate, I wanted to take less" comments in the world, but his actions really showed a different story (which could have been his agent). I don't have any hate for him, he did what he wanted to do, I just wish he stayed in Carolina and didn't go to Dallas because he could be John Dillinger 2.0.Toews is the only Av who has taken a discount in CO... I say scapegoating because when other guys took market value they didn't get villainized. But also I would say the Avs also bring on a lot of this stuff themselves. I mean they were like 15mins from losing their damn captain to FA.Kadri was willing to take SCF discount to stay with us, and with hindsight, his contract is looking overpaid, but underappreciated.
