Probably not, unless the fans boo him tomorrow which will probably make this thing continue. Are we going to have to suffer eight years of him saying it wasn't him, it was us?

Should just chant "fire your agent" and be done with it.
Would be ironic AF if Mikko got booed tomorrow when the Avs play their tribute, while Georgiev got cheered. They should give him a standing ovation for helping deliver a Stanley Cup.
We just saw Georgiev get a video and nice cheer so I imagine it should be good for Mikko too.
I don't think that's true. If he wanted to stay, he would have taken then $11.75M x 8 deal CMac offered, instead of screwing over Carolina, and ultimately forcing himself to Dallas for just $250k more per year.I believe Mikko when he says he was traded soon after a deal would've been struck. CMac wanted to trade him all along.
MacKinnon also could've signed for less than 12.6, but didn't.I don't think that's true. If he wanted to stay, he would have taken then $11.75M x 8 deal CMac offered, instead of screwing over Carolina, and ultimately forcing himself to Dallas for just $250k more per year.
No income tax in Texas though. Avs would have to pay Mikko somewhere in 13 mill neighborhood to be equivalent of Dallas paying him 12I don't think that's true. First of all, there is no perfect calculator that you can use between teams. You can have two players playing for the same team, making exactly the same AAV, and they will have two completely different tax percentages. Deductions, how the contract is constructed, etc. Also, cost of living. Texas might not have state tax, but their property tax is 3x as high as Colorado for an example. No income tax in Texas though. Obviously Mikko didn’t take 11.75 which was the Avs offer. He wasn’t gonna take 12 either. He didn’t leave the Avs for 250K, but he took 12 with Dallas, which tells me no state income tax came into play thereFirst of all, there is no perfect calculator that you can use between teams. Secondly, I'm pretty sure Mikko would've taken a discount to stay in Colorado, if he had known that the offer was final.
