I really don't like that Lindgren/Manson pairing for some reason.

Bednar thinks it’s his big shutdown pairing, even though they have worse numbers than the other two pairings.

It also bumps Girard down to the third pairing when he’s quite clearly our 3rd best defenseman.

Yeah, I don’t like it.

Reactions: Mighty Makar
Tells you where OC’s game is at that he’s getting healthy scratched. That never would’ve happened last season.
I feel like his game hasn't been that bad. It could just be expectations being higher than they should be for him. He's essentially on pace for his normal numbers offensively and he's been pretty damn good defensively from what I've seen.

I dont think it has anything to do with his game.

The Avs simply have a lot of depth and it's a good opportunity to give guys some extra Rest while you're healthy enough to take advantage of it.

Bednar literally praised Malinski for having one of his best games ever with the Avs on Saturday. The Healthy Scratch isn't about performance. It's about Resting guys while we're healthy and have the ability to do that.

I'm Ok with keeping those two together for now and see if they can develop some chemistry.

I don't think it is really a demotion for G. I think it is more related to the fact that he is the best suited to handle a rotation of partners. The other guys need to play to stay in game shape. I think when we get very close to the playoffs it will revert back to G-Manson or G-Lindy if Manson doesn't get back to his standard or injured.

He’s dipped a little from last year.

Still a solid player, but last year I think most of us felt he was a rock solid 3rd liner and Kivi is the guy they’re not taking out of the lineup now.

It takes a while to come back from that surgery. I bet we see a better OC next season.
