Pre-Game Talk: Week of Home Cookin' (Tue vs. DET, Thu vs. LAK, Sat vs. STL)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Montano: "Brock, what is it about your line with Lehky and Drou that makes it work so well?"

Nelson: "Lehky and Marty, you mean, right?"

Montano: "Yeah, yeah, sorry"

Man's been here two weeks and has the measure of the media already. He'll be on the phone to Guerin already offering to take a discount.

Or maybe he’s going to learn to appreciate our half witted media when he realizes he can get away with the most lackadaisical, bullshit interviews and never be held accountable for mistakes.

Okay, not that I'm here to defend Guerilla or anything like that but--and I swear I ain't tryin' to be all flippant here--I don't really see a media hungry to call out a team or players in any other market. Sometimes a guy like Larry Brooks will write a scathing column, or a Brooks wannabe like Kiz will parachute in to talk about a sport he's paid virtually no attention to previously to slag the team/management/whatever, but I don't see an apparatus that really holds anyone accountable in the sports world. If anything, the best insiders and coverage types in the sportswriting and broadcasting world have been careful about how critical they are for fear of losing their insider access.

At the risk of coming off political, we're seeing media do little or nothing to hold our very government accountable, and that's the reason they f***ing exist in the first place. If they won't do THAT, I doubt their counterparts in the sports world will do much better.

I'm guessing this is Cooper too.

Guy probably rings up reporters on his off days and records his calls just so he can hear himself talk.
Technically Cooper did coach Makar at 4 nations. That report says it’s a coach that hasn’t coached Makar, or doesn’t coach Makar
