Pre-Game Talk: Week of Home Cookin' (Tue vs. DET, Thu vs. LAK, Sat vs. STL)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

I feel like it's a forgone conclusion.

Nate would deserve it too, but he's intentionally skipped about 30 first star circles out on the ice after the game in his career, and every press scrum he looks like he's on the verge of calling a reporter a f***ing idiot.

I feel like he won't want all the attention and media duties that come with being the Captain. He just wants to focus on playing hockey as best as he can.
"Listen Nate, I know you might not want to wear the C and have to deal with being the voice of this team, but if you don't we are going to give Dater his press credentials back..."

That’s true it doesn’t, but I’d take Nate and Cale on my team. Call me homer if you want. I won’t deny that career wise, McDavid is the best offensive talent in the NHL, but Nate and Cale are winners, and they are on par offensively with McDavid. Makar maybe scoring 30 goals this year
If you swap Mack and McDavid do the Oilers win a cup?

Team photo day today.

Landy with C and all three As present, too.

Middleton sticking out like a sore thumb lol

No Tucker Poolman! Not a team player!

I don't care about him leading the team in goals, but I want him to score 30.

Only 1 defenseman has hit 30 goals scored in the past 32 years; Mike Green with 31 in 2008-09. Before that, it was Kevin Hatcher in 1992-93.

Bobby Orr - 5 times
Paul Coffey - 4 times
Denis Potvin - 3 times
Phil Housley - 1 time
Doug Wilson - 1 time
Ray Bourque - 1 time
Kevin Hatcher - 1 time
Mike Green - 1 time
That’s hilarious. Granted my memory is not great and I was quite young during his time, but Kevin freaking Hatcher was not on my bingo card!

Shouldn't be! Kevin was the offensively talented one. Derian was the punishing, stay-at-home one. Two vastly different skillsets between those brothers.

When you're healthy you don't need maintenance day. That could explain Mack's play lately.

Hard to say, but I’m 99% sure if you also swap Bouchard with Makar, Oilers do win the cup. Nate and Cale would get it done
Yeah... The Oilers aren't winning cups because McDavid isn't a winner. It's because his GM's are doing an all time job of getting him any support in that goal. Zero chance Mack has a cup right now if he was an Oiler.

If McDavid had even half the supporting cast Mack does I'd bet the Oilers have a cup by now. A Makar would go a long way to any franchise winning a cup that's for sure.

They were one game and couple of goals away from winning the cup. McDavid didn’t produce in game 6 and 7. I think that’s the difference between Nate and McDavid. Nate is more clutch. McDavid will help you getting to the finish line, Nate will help you crossing the finish line

The Avs play as a back to back on ESPN tonight. No Altitude broadcast. But it's not even a f***ing hockey back to back. We fallow the MLB. After the the Detroit Tigers play the LA Dodgers, then we f***ing play. I'm sure this will still fallow that bullshit, where Puck drop is actually around 20 after as well. If that baseball game goes to OT..... I f***ing hate it here.
