Pre-Game Talk: Week of Home Cookin' (Tue vs. DET, Thu vs. LAK, Sat vs. STL)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

After last night’s game, Wood and Vesey have to be the 13th and 14th forwards. Vesey was invisible and Wood was a train wreck as usual. Wood has never been that great but he’s been downright awful since the back issues
Wood's game has totally disappeared. He's got no Wood. Zero impact on the game except for his usual one penalty per game. I think the Avs will try to trade him next year or place him on waivers. If he clears waivers, then make him a lifetime Eagle.

Sending Wood to the minors would leave $1.35m in dead cap. That at least save's $1.15m in capspace though in the event that it's too expensive to trade him.

Wood is deadwood to begin with so don't count on the Avs being able to trade him. Even if they carried back salary in a trade scenario, I'll take the "buried salary" of $1.35M a year as opposed to having him on the roster. He just isn't deserving of a spot. One of the worst CMac mistakes, contract wise, but at least it isn't for an exorbitant amount.

Sounds like Girard is not close to returning? If so then LTIR him and Manson until playoffs to give Landy couple of games in regular season

Drouin is so much more French than I realized when he started dropping Montembault's name lmao. This dude also scratches his face an absurd amount during interviews I've noticed.

I think it’s like a social anxiety tick or something.

Wow they really did call up MacDonald, even though he's chasing a record.

Eagles next game is Wednesday, so he could perhaps theoretically play for Avs, and then be sent back to Loveland, if necessary. Seems they could have called another D, but if he gets an NHL game check this way, he may not mind.

Edit: Oops, the Eagles game is in California. They might be flying out soon.
