Announcers seem really bent on that pass being uncatchable, but if the receiver is free to go up for it he might be able to jump and toe tap it.

Not likely, but certainly not a blanket uncatchable throw.

I think it was uncatchable, but the penalty still would have been defensive holding.

I don't think he was going to catch it, but I don't think it was at the level of uncatchable.

DPI is significantly worse than defensive holding though since it would have been 18 yards less of a gain.

Agreed. Im okay with giving the receiver the benefit of the doubt in this situation.

Also, the NFL is hilarious.

If you flip the ball 2 millimeters towards a defender it's a 15 yard penalty for taunting.

If you're Josh Allen and after a TD you walk up to a defender, get in his face, and literally taunt him, it's totally fine.

I mean, I'm good with it mainly because taunting is a stupid penalty overall, but it's just a dumb dichotomy.
