Salah whining, give it a rest. Jets got gift wrapped calls to get them back in the game. O-line holding all night and not called.

Give it a rest.
No dog in the race here: But that's quite literally a game altering call that likely shouldn't have been called.

And the Chiefs got a gift call in the Super Bowl. I understand why people are annoyed/pissed about it.

But it didn't win or lose the game. But it was very, very consequential.

Same.

im calling out the NFL’s fetishizing of Taylor Swift and directly connecting it to the egregious officiating to seal the deal

It was almost worse than that, it was blatant game management that would make an NHL ref embarassed. We got a couple of chintsy calls early when America was about to turn their sets off but OF COURSE when the game was on the line, the glamour team gets all the calls and non-calls.

The safety was the wrong call and that horse collar tackle call? That got them back in the game. Game was 17-0 and Jets couldn't get anything going.

It makes sense, you want the games to be close but those were not good calls. The holding call, he grabbed his shoulder pads on the break and turned him. That's a hold. They don't always call it, but they did. For a head coach to throw a hissy fit and run up and down the field is a bit much, imo.

It's not a bit much. The dogshit call cost them a chance to win the game. If that's defensive holding, throw the flag every play.

I was rooting for the Chiefs for what it's worth.

EDIT:

There is no holding.

It's a hold tho? They don't always call it, but it's a hold.

Zach Wilson at least saved us from an entire broadcast talking about Taylor Swift, and forced everyone to stay focused on the field.

You should see the NFL Instagram account.

The comments on the Taylor Swift ones are yeah, yikes.

Interesting about Claypool

This guy really rubs coaches in this league the wrong way

he'll be cut this week guaranteed

wonder who takes a chance on him

Pretty much the refs were going to give the Chiefs the win but they wanted to not have an utter garbage national game. Surprisingly, the Jets rose up to the occasion to some extent before they ran out of ammo.

And the Chiefs offense was still able to get on the field to alter the game after those calls happened since they were so early. If you want to be this dense defending the garbage you saw last night, be my guest, but when 31 other fanbases think the Jets got jobbed then you're clearly in the minority here or just trying to be Mr. Devils Advocate to rile people up. I'm sure the NFL making their banner on twitter Taylor Swift and changing their Instagram bio to the Chiefs are 2-0 as Swifties, I'm sure it makes it look any better...

I like how everyone calls them by their first names like they’re friends with them. Even during the game whenever he’d make a play they started just calling him Travis.

Back to football though, feels like the Chiefs have underwhelmed so far. Almost too casual or something

Jets weren't getting the win. They were given those lax calls so people wouldn't completely tune out at halftime. But everyone and their mom knows Zach Wilson is a meathead just being trotted out there because of business reasons(i.e general labor negotiations in the future, ending any speculation "he just needed a chance"), not because he has any future. But the refs were going to make up for their errors because they were egregious.

Why do you watch the NFL if you think it’s rigged?

There's still enough unpredictability that even with "guidance", that such meddling or omission to act can be overcome with a big F U to the riggers. I remember that Vikes-Bills game. They missed an incomplete pass but the Vikes still prevailed despite Buffalo being "favored".

Ok so then by this logic upsets should never happen in the NFL yet they do. Also stop watching the sport then if you have this absurdly pessimistic view of it and maybe sports in general.

Why do you watch the NFL if you think it’s rigged?
